After installing iOS 7 preview, my immediate feeling is that iPhone has taken a big evolutionary step forward. Flat design forces discipline and minimalism, and Apple seems to have executed it very well. #iOS7   #flatdesign

The new Xbox Kinect 2 HD camera looks awesome. The IR / night vision feature is cool - you can game in a dark room and the camera will still work. You can imagine some really cool game possibilities with it. #kinect2   #gaming

As a former Yahoo employee who worked with the company's previously acquired companies, here's what stood out to me as the most important takeaway from +Marissa Mayer 's announcement on the #Tumblr  acquisition:

"Mayer stressed that Tumblr will continue to operate as an independent company. It will retain all employees and won't even put the Yahoo logo on Tumblr's site. Tumblr will benefit from Yahoo's backing of technology and resources, which will allow the company to "innovate and release products much faster than ever before" as well as hire a "number of engineers and ad sales personnel," she said."

Sounds better.

Good article comparing #NoSQL cloud offerings from Google and Amazon - Google's Cloud Datastore vs Amazon's DynamoDB.

"BigTable-based Datastore has strong consistency for reads and eventual consistency for queries, whereas DynamoDB offers people a choice of eventual or strong consistency, depending on pricing. Both systems are heavily optimized for writes."
