Hello from beautiful Montana,  This is an excellent article.  While I knew the basics of non-verbal communications, I did not know the science or titles behind it.  Very interesting.

Your friend and fan, Judy Helm Wright aka "Auntie Artichoke"
Copywriting is often labelled as "wordsmithing." A wordsmith is someone who uses words to sell a product, a service, or an idea. But, is copy only about words? Copywriting comes down to two fundamental tasks: knowing what to say and then how... Read more

Hello again, today when we're talking about on Is There a Book Inside You? You're going to like it because this is a recipe book.  Now  most of you out there are probably excellent cooks.  I, on the other hand at about 40 years of age decided that I would fall in love with Mrs. Costco and get most of my stuff from her but every now and then I make a really mean lasagna.

This book is one that I want to talk to you about because it is an intergenerational book.  This happens to be my mother and it's Grandma Helm’s Kitchen Counseling, instructions on life love and casseroles from the kitchen of Eula Dee Turman Helm, beloved mother grandmother, great grandmother, neighbor and friend to all.
It was compiled and published by Debra Wright, my oldest daughter and I, granddaughter and daughter, in 1991.

The reason that we did this particular one was my mother wanted to have one done for her 90th birthday.  Debra followed her around and wrote down recipes. I'm sure all of you can relate to a grandmother who puts a little bit of this and a little of that and cleans out the kitchen cupboards and the refrigerator and it tastes wonderful.

But then for those of who don't have the same thing in the refrigerator doesn't taste so good.  But Deb wrote down the recipes and then mom also told a little story about the recipes and this one  says “I don't like syrup on my pancakes, I prefer them topped with red tomato relish.”  Every time someone in the family has pancakes they remembered grandma Helm.
She also included a collection of mom's witticisms and sayings which you can relate to.
•        What do you think?  Money grows from trees or falls from the sky?
•        What would it cost you to hang up the towel and clean out thing sink?
•        Do you practice being rude or is that a natural talent?
•
Those are the kinds of things that you will remember from your grandmother and your mother.  How long would it take you to do a recipe book, a family recipe book?  I'm guess probably about three weeks working on it an hour a day.  How much would it mean for your family to receive this as a Christmas gift.  By far and away it would be priceless.  It would be the best gift you could ever give.
We gave these away at mother's 90th birthday... and she was so happy to be able to share not only her recipes and her sayings but her friendship.  Why don't you try one of these?  This may be the book you have inside of you.

We'll see you soon. Keep Writing.  Write Fast, Edit later.

This is possibly the best kept secret of Montana. We have never been disappointed in the quality of the productions or the people associated with MCT. A few years ago our grand daughter Amanda was offered chances to go to orchestra camp, leadership camp, space camp etc. Instead she chose Next Step Prep Camp with the MCT. A vigorous six week intensive to teach the art of production to young adults. They danced, sang, produced and preformed in an amazing period of time. Kids from all over the world were there to learn about the theater. Afterwords, we asked if she had chosen wisely. Did she wish she had made another choice. She said that period was one of the best times she had ever had. She would do it again in a heart beat. MCT is a treasure and we are very pleased to just be able to attend the productions locally and support their international reach. Judy Helm Wright, author and publisher at Artichoke Press LLC
