Where should one go to eat after running 13.1 miles? In the case of me and my friend, we decided on Polker's since it was within walking distance from her place. It's on a cool stretch of Polk St with all kinds of cute shops/bars/restaurants. It was around 12:30, so the weekend brunch/lunch crowd was in full swing, and we had to put down our name for a table. Since we figured it would take a while we took off to visit The Candy Store down the street. When we came back about 20 minutes later, turns out they'd called our name but we weren't there so we got passed over, d'oh! So we had to wait about another 10 minutes or so--not the place's fault, obviously. The place is on the smallish side, hence the wait, but it's pleasant and bright inside, and the staff was friendly. I immediately decided I needed a burger, and got the mushroom swiss with avocado and a side of fries. My friend opted for the more healthy omelette. The burger tasted REALLY good, maybe having run a half marathon might've biased me, but it was delish. The fries could've been a little crispier, but hell, still good. My friend enjoyed her omelette and it was just a lovely leisurely time--the perfect way to spend a sunny Sunurday.

Polkers is one of my go-to brunch spots in Russian Hill. They food is good and they have some excellent options. They also have bottomless mimosa's and they do a great job making bloody mary's. If you come later in the day, they also have excellent burgers and sandwiches for lunch. They have a few outdoor tables on the sidewalk which are great to people watch on a Sunday morning. Simple place and reasonably priced.

We went to Polkers with the family and had a great time. The food was really good and the service was fantastic. The place was super busy and they seated us promptly and got the food out quickly.

The burgers are just okay, but I enjoyed some of the other items on the menu. The ahi tuna starter is tasty and so is the southwestern salad. Love the jalapeno cream and cilantro vinaigrette dressing. Brunch is just okay but I do love the bottomless mimosas!

A tasty brunch at Polkers is always a good idea. I ordered the Challah Vanilla French Toast. Delicious!!! My friends ordered omelets and Fresh Salmon Florentine. Everyone was happy and enjoyed their selection. Friendly servers, comfortable dining, and no wait to be seated, all-in-all this was a great experience.

Good place for burgers and sandwiches. Comfort food style and expect large portions. Bring your appetite.

I’m stealing a phrase from my roommate to describe Polkers: Grubbin’ good. Sure, you would never want to impress a date there (unless he/she really likes messy burgers and breakfasts). It’s the kind of place that fills you up for the day, so you might want to walk down to the Bay and pass out when you’re finished. The pecan-banana pancakes are delicious with butter, syrup, and one of Polkers’ impressive mimosas.
