Ever go to a steakhouse and told "We are out of steak? We had a party of eleven that traveled in total about 1,800 miles solely for their famous crabs and were shocked when the waitress said we are all out. Saturday night at 7:30 pm, not overly busy. We tried to make the best of it but the rest of the food was not good and very over priced. Twin stuffed lobster tails were tasteless and extremely bready. Side of linguine tasted like dishwater, "Famous Fries" were anything but. Much of the menu had no prices listed at all. Service also not good. Staff was friendly but wait time between apps, drinks and entrees much too long. Waitress suggested we call ahead to check for crabs next time. Sorry - there will absolutely not be a next time.

The food was mediocre at best. I guess it's because I didn't actually order a serving of crabs, which looked pretty appetizing at the neighboring table. I leaned toward the crab cakes which were OK. I'm glad I used a Living Social deal for this because it's certainly not worth the full price. Also, the restaurant is in need of an upgrade (from an interior design perspective); it's very blah and it smells weird when you walk in (not a seafood smell...but some other smell that I cannot identify).

We've been here a few times. We accepted the highway robbery prices (for small portions) and consistently icy, poor service because it is not a chain and they bring in the crabs fresh. Well the crabs aren't so fresh anymore. The past two times the crabs tasted and smelled like AMMONIA (which is what happens when crabs are old and reheated). For $8 a crab, I would expect a fresh crab, not something that was reheated, luke warm and borderline inedible. We wanted to continue our support of this restaurant because we really love blue crabs, but now we leave feeling robbed and a little skeeved. There are plenty of other fantastic, innovative restaurants in Philadelphia to spend your hard-earned money.

This is a hidden Philadelphia Gem!! Go early so you get the best crabs...they fly them in fresh every day from what I hear!! The biggest go the fastest, plan for a messy night & a lot of drawn butter but it's well worth the indulgence!

We went for Father's Day lunch - it was a last-minute decision, and we were able to get a reservation. The food was good, the service was great, and they didn't kick us out when our infant son got a little fussy. We'll definitely go back.

I ate here on New Year's Eve with my girlfriend and the complete experience was just awful. We ordered soups for appetizers (lobster bisque and clam and corn chowder). Both were pretty good but, for the price, wasn't completely worth it. We ordered a special menu item (crab stuffed "fish of the day") and a crab cake sandwhich. The crab cakes were good but, again, the price made it not nearly as worth it. My girlfriend's meal, the special, tasted like salt water as if it was literally caught that day from the Delaware. You don't eat fish from the Delaware if you know what's good for you. It was smelly and the "crab" stuffed in it was imitation. The service was horrible and we were one of the first to arrive. The waitress was more concerned about fighting for the incoming party of 12 or 14 to be concerned with our table (which had spent near $85 by the end of the meal). Overall, not even close to worth it. Maybe a lunch venue but definitely not for dinner.
