The modern classic of Los Angeles mexican food. Amazing mescal bar. Sumptuous mole. A huge menu with regional favorites and traditional fare with a slight twist. Live music on the weekends.

Where do you get the best mole this side of Oaxaca? In the middle of Koreatown of course. Guelaguetza's delicious mole will win over even the staunchest 'I know Mexican food' critics. The menu is packed with a variety of options for mole but the mole coloradito stole my heart from day 1. If you're planning on visiting during the weekend, be prepared to wait, as this location is quite popular. The basket of chips with mole coloradito that they deliver to your table when you finally get seated though makes the wait worthwhile. Get the chicken enchiladas if you're not adventurous, you won't regret it.

This is a review for their Michelada Mix: Simply the best mix ever! It is way better than purchasing the not-so eco-friendly chili rimmed styrofoam cups. Why not 5 stars - the price. $15 for a 32 oz bottle of mix. Which, of the three sizes available is the best per ounce price. Review for the novelty counter: 5 Stars The gals at the service counter were quite obliging and efficient. I was in and out with my purchase in 5 minutes.

You haven't had mole or mezcal until you've visited Guelaguetza. A fantastic Oaxacan restaurant, this giant restaurant created a bit of an empire in Los Angeles. It's big, a little loud (they have music on weekend nights) and very cozy. You won't be out of place dolled up, or in jeans. It's a great LA restaurant where you can take a date or your family, and eat some of the best Mexican food in Los Angeles.

I as a who cooks real oaxacan food can tell this is the worst place i've been, the m Oaxaqueno ole was nasty, i've never tasted anything like that, not even the first one i made, the service was poor, me as a client wouldn't like to get back there, the table i was sitted on was closed to a door that was suposed to be locked, a prostitute came in by that door and started screaming and yelling at everybody around and nobody did nothing. and something to note, if you go wash your hands you will notice that there is not napkins, nor even toilet paper, more over if you are eating and the only napkin they give you is not enough if you ask for more, they will just give you once, and don't worry to complain, they wont hear you, because they are too conceited about the place i guess. (sorry per the poor english i hope this works for you, and if you are looking for real oaxacan food, try to go to Oaxaca, you will love that place)
