I wanted to like this place when I went in to buy a specialty soda. I wanted in line for at least 10 minutes while the cashier typed some stuff on the computer (???) and chatted and laughed with the only customer in front of me. The customer even had his money on the counter to pay, which just sat there the whole time I was in line while the cashier chatted up this customer. The cashier completely ignored me, not even a "I'll be right with you." Then she proceeded to escort the customer over to the cigar/cigarette counter and kept chatting and laughing with him. I put the soda back and just walked out. So lame. No other employees offered to help me either. I went back a second time and had a similar experience where no employee offered to ring me up as I just stood there waiting for 5 minutes to buy some ice cream (this is the reason I gave them 3 stars instead of 2 is they have Coolhaus Ice cream sandwiches - a ton of them!). Side note: the food was way over priced.

The hipsters love it and they love it for a reason. It has a great selection of beer, wine, and food for your grocery needs. They also have a bar inside with an insanely great craft beer selection and some tasty food options including incredible tacos. The patio out front is a great place to hang out and they even make a mean cup of coffee.

One of my favorite hangout spots. Great selection of beer, great service, but the food is just okay. Check out pint night on Thursday nights for $3 pints.

The Quickie Pickie is a great one stop shop in East Austin. It's a convenience store with some grocery staples, but there's also a bar and kitchen. People frequently are hanging out on the patio with a beer and snacks. I haven't ordered a beer here yet, but they have a great selection of beer on tap. I ordered the shrimp tacos one night for dinner and they were really good. The chipotle sauce and cabbage are a nice touch. There's a lack of grocery stores in downtown Austin, so I'm happy that the Quickie Pickie is a quick 5 min walk from my place. The prices are a little higher than the normal grocery store, but it's convenient!

My coworkers have been talking up Quickie Pickie for weeks, and I wasn't disappointed when I finally got lunch at this combination grocery store/cafe/bar. Lunch items seemed a little pricey, but the sandwich I ordered (the Mr. Jack) was delicious and surprisingly filling, so I can't complain too much. I also enjoyed browsing the large selection of wine, chocolate, and snacks while I was waiting for my order. I'll definitely be back.

I am sooooooooooooo all about that life. A hidden gem on the east side, that is coming up these days. I think being conveniently placed right next to hillside definitely helped with that. Any who, great food, and great beers. Conveniently priced. I try to make it here for lunch about once or so a month. Try the butternut sandwich. You will not be disappointed. I love you.

Quickie Pickie may not have Mickeys or a Wiki but it sure did leave an impression on me like a hickie. No but really, this place gives me feelings. Along the lines of a trendier, cleaner Whip In, I love the selection of wine and beer on tap. Fish tacos and sandwiches were better than expected. May or may not be pricy depending on perspective but it's worth getting a couple drinks and sitting outside for a bit. Also, the patio has a great view of the jumbo Texas flag at the State Cemetery and has a great "laptop work" feel.

This is a fun grocery store/gastropub with a beer selection that almost rivals the flag store. They always have something fun on tap—last time I went it was Jester King, and I've never seen anything from Jester King on tap anywhere except for Jester King. The staff is friendly, and they host pint nights and other beer events. I will say that the food I've eaten here is just okay. It's a great place for grabbing some bombers and hanging out on the patio.
