This was the scene yesterday trying to return from my father's funeral. My wife and I had just been dropped off by her father, at least as close to home as we could manage. Lately I've felt like this Guardsman, waiting for time to pass. I know nothing is wrong with time or its passage, merely my perception of such. It toys with the mind!...and I need much rest. Miss you Dad!

Marathon Monday is fast approaching! And in the age of insanity helicopters having been sweeping low over the city searching for(drumroll please)...radiation signatures! Welcome to our world! [note: this is not one of those helicopters, probably hovering during coverage of traffic or some shit]

My father passed last Sunday from complications of a stroke. My family held out hope, but my Dad had specific health detectives in place. No artificial means of support. Though the stroke was not severe, he had trouble swallowing. No feeding tube! He is survived by his children Cathy and her husband Dan, Peter, Paul and my wife Amy and Laura, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by my Mother, his wife of 52 years Joan. She is having it particularly hard, my Mother has Alzheimer's. What we feared most since my father's passing has plagued her, she learns anew every fucking day! Sometimes several times a day! She may truly die of a broken heart! I'd cut off my own limb to comfort her!
