Hardcore deliciousness. Not for the light appetite. You are going to get greasy, delicious, meals and hardcore, liqour-tastic drinks. Margaritas, sangrias, and so many delicious Tex-Mex choices. It's definitely a gem in the Mission Street. More upscale than a local taqueria and more downscale than the hoighty toity restaurants that keep popping up every corner. Bring an empty belly because you won't want to waste a bit.

Yummy margaritas, friendly waitstaff and delicious queso are the biggest reasons to make your way to West of Pecos! It's a pretty big restaurant so it's a good go-to for groups or for snagging a reservation last minute. If you're looking for Tex-Mex, West of Pecos has you covered.

I didn't eat there, just a guacamole. But I was pleasantly surprised with their Margaritas and Bourbon-infused drinks. The decor is very cool, I didn't know if I was in New Mexico, texas or Mexico.. then I learned that Pecos is in Texas. Feels like a Mexican restaurant and I was kind of hoping to see more authentic Texan food but i guess that would be Mexican? Staff was great, great bartenders, decor, decor, decor.. and loved the fireplaces outside. Have to go back and try more of their food. This is 100% Mission!

Getting a table can be arduous, but your patience is rewarded with creative cocktails and New-Mexico-style dishes. The mezcal mule was great! The ahi tuna tacos, with mini hard shells, were tasty (though a little on the small side). The brisket and green chile sliders were good, but too much brisket/sauce, not enough chile (and again, small portions - just two of them). Good place, overall.

Need a break from California Style Mexican? Do you miss that melty delicious Queso? YES! One of the few places I've found it in the Bay Area Pork Trio is excellent. Drinks are excellent, especially their variations on margaritas. Decor and ambiance is great. You're not just eating you're having an experience. Location is Valencia street...which means fun vibrant and interesting.

Fun place to go for South Western food. If you can't get a table, eating at the bar also works as the bar has its own separate, but still delicious menu. Try the queso, mac & cheese, and the duck flautas. If you're going to get dinner, then trust me when I say that the Flat Iron Steak is the best. Don't forget to try a cocktail from the menu, their selection of tequila and mescal is great!
