As it gets cooler, prepare your home with a fall tune up and heed some energy-saving tips:

Check windows, doors and fireplace.
This is one of the easiest ways to save on energy bills. Make sure there are no cracks, leaks or drafts. Keep fireplace damper closed when not in use.

Service your furnace.
A prepared system can help prevent costly repairs, save energy and increase health, safety and comfort. See dates below for when we are in your area. Click here or call to schedule. Consider a Service Contract for discounted seasonal maintenance, priority service and additional benefits.

Watch your thermostat.
Turning the heat down 10 to 15 degrees when asleep or no one is home can save about 10% a year on heating bills. A programmable thermostat makes it easy to set back temperature, or even have heat turn down when you leave and up before you return.

Let the sun shine in.
Open south-facing window curtains during the day to allow sunlight to naturally heat your home, and close them at night to reduce the chill.

Install or service humidifier.
A humidifier can help make your home more comfortable, save energy, reduce infections, improve sinuses, skin and protect wood furnishings. If you have a humidifier, make sure it is cleaned to prevent bacteria, spores and unclean moisture. We offer humidifier service as a part of the tune-up.

Avoid freezing pipes.
Wrap water pipes that run along exterior walls with heating tape. It will save energy and prevent them from freezing.

Ceiling fan direction.
Change the direction of your ceiling fan to create an upward draft that redistributes warm air from the ceiling.

Check out from our Tune Up Service Schedule when we're going to be in your area!
