Wasted effort...
Since the 1990s, millions of teenagers have been arrested for breaking curfew, which a policy analysis shows has a disproportionate impact on minorities

It's time to pop the Bernie bubble. People who tell you that Bernie would be winning if all primaries were open are lying. While Clinton polled better in closed primaries than open ones, she did better than Sanders in open primaries as well.

Still, this wouldn’t make all that much difference. Just 11 states held closed primaries, so the national vote is mostly reflective of a process open to unaffiliated voters. Indeed, Clinton has won 14 primaries open to independent voters, while Sanders has won nine.

The only reason Sanders stayed close behind is because his devotees overan the caucuses, just like Ran Paul's people did in GOP caucuses in 2012. Those results aren't representative of actual support for candidates in those states or the national support, as a whole. Caucus victories are a tribute to activists, nothing more.

It's time to #BernOut . This party is over.
A week ago, New York Daily News columnist and Bernie Sanders supporter Shaun King tweeted the following about the Democratic caucuses in Washington, which took place in late March: Whether King int…

More Onion...

"We must not allow this ignoble parasite to usurp our rightful place as the most feared and reviled pest in all the land."
GRAND IMPERIAL THRONE ROOM, CASTLE ROACH—His Royal Highness, King Leopold Blattodea IV, undisputed lord and ruler of the cockroaches, expressed dismay and concern Monday that the recent rise in bedbug populations could threaten his sovereignty over the realm of human squalor.

Er... So, you mean, it's not just a dumb social stereotype?
It's a popular stereotype that lesbians drive Subarus. What's less well known is that Subaru cultivated that image—and made history in the process.

Nearly two decades later, at another tasting, the judges were filmed scurrying to change their scores when they found out they'd been rating Italian reds above the French. They had succeeded and the French wines had won the day, but it was a Pyrrhic victory and the damage had already been done. For most wine drinkers, the wine world is much more egalitarian today than it was in 1976. Collectors may still disagree, but they almost never drink their collections.
Forty years ago, the top names in French food and wine judged a blind tasting pitting the finest French wines against unknown California bottles. The results revolutionized the wine industry.

IDIOTS OF THE DAY -- Iconoclast Edition

Not the first time art critics have pranked. Nor last. It would be great to hear their critiques and explanations. Don't hold your breath waiting for them.
TJ Khayatan, 17, has been visiting the San Francisco gallery with friends but said that he had been left unimpressed by some of the modern art on display.

IDIOTS OF THE DAY -- Amended Edition

"_What we learned today is that the Democrats were not looking to advance an issue but to sabotage the appropriations process," [Ryan] said. "The mere fact that they passed their amendments, then voted against the bill containing their amendments, proves this point_."

I know, Ryan is new to this whole Speaker thing, and his math skills aren't up to par. But when more than half your own caucus votes down the measure, don't blame the other side.

It's always interesting to see how the media reports it. If the comment is reported uncritically, the reporter is a fool. Politico gets wise to it, though, and reports the contradiction. Still, the editors are stuck in their conservative roots and choose the headline that doesn't quite match the content. The correct header would've been "Amendments sink uncontroversial bill".

The appropriations bill failed 305-112, with many Republicans opposed because of the gay rights provision.

+John Hummel Sociopath. His demand was that all cans be stacked neatly, with labels facing forward. It's an important plot point. Probably a libertarian.

IDIOTS OF THE DAY -- Preempt Edition

Although Virginia, as a whole, has been leaning Democratic in recent elections, no such effects are seen in Southwest Virginia. The most rural part of the state can be mistaken for Alabama on any given night.
The Grayson County School Board in Virginia has voted unanimously in favor of requiring students to use locker rooms and bathrooms matching their biological gender.
