I've just realised that I've been developing iPhone apps for over five years. Trunk Notes, released 21st January 2009, is still on sale and being developed. I hope to rejuvenate my first ever app - Go Calc (initially called Go Figure) - soon with an update to iOS 7.

This is the game we developed for the +One Result Ltd hack day. iOS 7 + Sprite Kit = quite a nice development experience.

Would have been nice to develop it for Android and have it out the same day, however I can't see how we could have done so without using something like Corona.
Get Sherry Xmas on the App Store. See screenshots and ratings, and read customer reviews.

If I do finally get a releasable version of Trunk Notes for Android finished it will be Android 4.0 and above only.
Part of developing on the Android platform is dealing with the dreaded “F” word which is FRAGMENTATION. It's what tech blogs mention when they write about Android. It's the word that scares some developers away from the platform. It's what Apple love to put in a pie chart in their product ...

Converting most of the activities in quite a large app into fragments. This isn't fun.

iOS 7 looks really nice, however so far haven't seen any of this rumored new opening up of the OS to third party developers (except for multitasking availability)

Only a few minutes until the start of Google I/O. Heres a quick blog post I wrote for +One Result Ltd this morning on Google Glass...

Fascinating overview of the current state of using Python to write Android apps. Unfortunate that the answer is that more work needs to be done before it is a feasible choice of language for most projects.

I think I'm going to give up with using fragments for this app. There are 24 activities, each inheriting from a multitude of base activity classes with composite classes thrown into the mix. I look forward to using NavigationDrawer properly when I implement the next app from scratch.

Location is very central, minutes from the station. Room was quiet, well decorated (although some touching up in the bathroom could have been done). The apple and chocolates were a nice touch.

Paying for overnight is initially a little confusing but you can pay at 1930 for 6 hours and have the ticket expire at 1330 which is very handy.
