British owners run this food truck that serves fresh fish 'n' chips & other treats.- Google
"We ordered fish and chips, baja fish tacos, fried oreos, and a fried twinkie."
"Gotta try the deep fried oreos to top it off."

My husband and I just ate here and I had to write a review (something I rarely do). The food was amazing - we both had the combo with baja sauce. The fish was really fresh and huge portions. On top of the great food the owner was beyond welcoming. She was genuinely the nicest person. She takes pride in her recipes and the freshness of food they serve. I would recommend going earlier because while we were there they sold out of fish (a Monday at 5:45).

The wait is long! Our order took about 20 minutes to come up. We were told ahead of time regarding the wait time and luckily we found an open table right away. For the record the difference between a Regular and Jr sized fish and chips are two pieces of 6oz or 4oz fish. Ordered: Fish tacos- One piece of fried fish with some cabbage, one small corn tortilla and their baja sauce. We ordered a spicy, but their sauce just tasted like a salty, spiced mayo sauce. Fish and Chips- Fries are short and thick. More of the the crunchier, meatier style. Fish was prepared well. Juicy, thick pieces of fish that fell apart with each bite. The batter was cooked all the way through, no uncooked batter or burnt pieces. I'm not fish and chips expert, but you can tell they pride themselves in their dishes. Friendly employees and place that serves good food that isn't a tourist trap.

The food is amazing!!! We ordered the spicy shrimp tacos, fish and chips, (chips had Baja sauce, garlic and cheese), and we had fried oreos!! The people were nice and had great customer service. The wait is a little long but it's well worth it.

Have been here twice in the last week with different friends visiting and ABSOLUTELY love it! The normal fish & chips is plenty enough food for two.. the second time I got the junior fish & chips and couldn't even finish it. The batter seemed a tad bit greasy but I guess you have to expect that with fish and chips. Will definitely be back!!

Cute little outdoor eatery with outside tables. I was befuddled that we were warned our order would take 20 minutes. Yes there was a line, but isn't fish and chips deep fried? As in, cooks fast? We got it to go to eat at a nearby park. Everything was packed well. The lady who hands you your food calls you "love" and you forget about the long wait. The food is tasty.

Even though I stayed around Fisherman's Wharf but I refused to eat around the area since I wanted to avoid touristy places and explore local spots. For the convenience sake and because I was hungry I decided to try The Codmother which was highly reviewed in Yelp. The Codmother opened at noon but the line was already forming soon after. While we waited for our food to come out, I realized the drawing of the codmother with her apron on, ready to deep fry that fish. I couldn't help myself but laugh at the irony of this drawing. No so much about fish eating fish cannibalistic irony but a mother of cod so ready to cook up their cod babies part. Anyways, the fish was nice and meaty with the perfect batter. It was worth the wait.

I'm not a big fish and chips gal but the fish at Codmother's is amazing! The batter is light and the fish is moist, juicy, and meaty! The portions are huge! I shared half with my mom and I was stuffed. I didn't like the fries though. Lacked flavor and not crunchy since they're thick cut. We tried the Baja sauce and it was too overpowering for me. I liked eating the fish with the complimentary tartar sauce. I loved the friendly and attentive service from the staff. Even though it's food truck, I felt like the service was better than most sit down restaurants. Everyone was really personable and it made the experience even better!

Delicious! Fish n chips were tasty, especially with malt vinegar and the fries tasted like In n Out, but chunkier aka super delicious. It's basically a little food truck with some picnic tables and a tent, but the food is absolutely worth it. The sauce on the fish tacos was phenomenal! Deep fried oreos were also a hit at our table (mostly with the little one). The only downside is that our food took a good 30 minutes to come out and it didn't all come out together. Apparently they're a fairly new truck and didn't have enough space for the necessary equipment to feed the demand. Pretty crazy. I think once they expand they'll be a huge hit!
