British owners run this food truck that serves fresh fish 'n' chips & other treats.- Google
"We ordered fish and chips, baja fish tacos, fried oreos, and a fried twinkie."
"Overall 3/5 for food trucks since it lacks originality."

WICKED GOOD FISH AND CHIPS!! Found this recently while visiting in San Fran for a short time and ended up eating here 3 times!! It was piping hot, huge portions, amazing taste, and topping it off, it was the best deal for Fish n chips I found in the bay area! Quality, flavor, price, personalities of the staff! You have to try this place! :)

It's rare to find me at Fisherman's Wharf, but I'd make the trip and dodge the tourists to dine here. It was fleet week so my roommate and I decided to go to Codmother after touring one of the Navy vessels. After waiting for 2.5 hours for a 35 minute tour of the USS Chosin, we were tired and hungry. We both ordered the regular fish and chips, which came with two filets and a bunch of tartar sauce packets. The fish was fresh and it wasn't greasy. Looking at some of the pictures, it looked like the batter had peppercorns, but my fish didn't look like that. I was hoping for them, but I wasn't disappointed. They also have a junior fish and chips, which comes with one fillet. And they also have other fried goodies like oreos and twinkles. It's nice to see that there are permanent food carts, kind of like the pods in Portland. And even though it is in a high tourist spot, Codmother has that off-the-path feel where the staff welcomes patrons with a smile and a damn good piece of fried fish. Bonus: We got to see the Blue Angles fly over us a couple of times! And surprisingly, the wait wasn't long considering the events happening in the area.

The best fish n chips I've ever had, and I've been to the UK on more than one occasion. The fried oreos were amazing! Changed my life. Can't wait to visit San Fran and eat here again. The ladies that work there are super friendly.

Best fish and chips outside of England! The Baja tacos are also amazing... Fresh fish and yummy food. A must eat in sfo!

The service used to be better. Many customers complained of a long wait. Seemed disorganized and watched them stop taking orders before closing with no explanation. Maybe the owner took the night off.

I was at The Codmother the first week they opened, and have been a loyal fan ever since. Fresh sustainable Alaskan Cod battered and fried, served with proper english chips. My go to is the Baja Fish tacos, with a piece of battered cod nestled in a fresh bed of cabbage with spicy homemade Baja sauce, wrapped in a corn tortilla (which they fry up crispy if you ask). Seriously some of the hardest working and genuine people in the Wharf. A true local gem.

5 Stars purely for the fish and chips, obviously. I would even go as far to say that the fish and chips here are better than the ones in London. Prices are cheap and the location right next to the water makes for a chill environment. Casual, but quaint. Definitely worth regular trips!
