Consentacle?  I dunno, having a game where the words 'Competitive Sex' come up seems... intriguing.

New to Maker Camp? Read this!

For those of you who are just getting into #makercamp , the idea is simple: It’s an online summer camp where we make fun stuff and meet awesome makers every day. You can follow along (and build along) by following this page.

Each morning, we’ll post a new project for campers to build at home. Each afternoon, campers can tune in to a Hangout with expert makers to talk about their creations. On Fridays, we’ll go on a “virtual field trip” to some amazing place, like NASA or Google.

We’ve added a couple new features to Maker Camp this year. You’re invited to join our new Maker Camp +Community, to show off your projects, meet new people, and ask questions. And we’ve also set up a national network of Maker Camp affiliate sites. Check out this map (http://goo.gl/iKoaj), there might be a library or community center near you that is hosting Maker Camp activities.

We’ll also have a new theme each week. This week is Makers in Motion, and we’re building boats, gliders, cars, and other fun stuff.

Scroll down to see our first project of the summer: homemade boats. We’ve got step-by-step photo instructions, or you can watch the video of us making boats with some experts at the +Exploratorium in San Francisco.

Want to see what’s next for #makercamp ? Watch the video below...

A good beer is a good beer, but if you're interested in pushing the envelope a little bit and expanding your beer's flavor, it turns out you don't have to do a complicated soak or extract a bunch of oils. All you need is a French press, that little gadget most of us use to make coffee.

I'm going to Netrunner/LCG night at Canton Games if anyone is interested. I'm going to be trying some conquest decks out for the tournament this weekend.

Follow along as we wire up this simple two-switch circuit that turns vocals off for instant instrumental mp3s. On any song where the track is equally mixed to left and right channels of stereo audio, the Sing-a-long Song Devocalizer will cancel them out, allowing you to isolate the instruments without the interference of song. See - and hear! - it in action on the project page: http://makezine.com/projects/song-devocalizer/

Science on Google+ Posterside Hangouts
Posterside Hangouts is a new Hangouts On Air, which is hosted by the Science on Google+ Community (http://goo.gl/uhJCN). The main goal of this HOA series is to recreate a poster session-like atmosphere on G+, so researchers can present their recent findings. Presentations will be grouped by discipline and individual presentations will last approximately 5 – 10 minutes.

Do you have a recent conference presentation, manuscript, or book that you would like to share with the Google+ community? Do you want to give your undergraduate or graduate students practice presenting their research? If yes, then let us know by filling out this short form: http://goo.gl/e0KPhE. We plan to schedule the next Posteside Hangout in 2-3 weeks.

Breaking News: The 1,400-member National Council of Boy Scouts just voted to lift the ban on gay scouts. A great step forward.

I was a scout in my youth and hope to see the next step--lifting the ban on LGBT scout leaders.
