Here are my thoughts on the OUYA after playing a retail unit. There is a lot of room for creative application, but average consumers may be stumped by it.

I had a geek out moment meeting and interviewing Ken Levine, creator of BioShock and BioShock Infinite. We talked about how hard narrative is to successfully include in games while still having great action, why in-game choices don't always have have consequences, and why even he still has to appeal to the masses.

I spent about three weeks collecting interviews from the top people in gaming to bring you this. They were kind enough to share their thoughts and predictions for the year, and what they think is in store for the gaming industry.

Quotes from Ken Levine, Warren Spector, Randy Pitchford, the founder of Twitch, Kellee Santiago (co-creator of Journey), Doodle Jump's creator, Julie Uhrman - OUYA founder, Jordan Mechner, marketing heads at CCP and Activision, and a lot more.

Wanna win an Xbox 360 and a copy of Halo 4? Enter our contest by making your own news video from the future.

Bonus: watch a hilarious video of our staff attempting it. I play a news reporter on Mars! :)

If you have a second to share this anywhere, please do. This is our first very experimental contest, and if we get feedback we can do more.

Papa & Yo is great in concept, but needs to be patched to fix some technical issues. Still, the ideas behind the game are solid. My review is below.

More about the new SimCity, from its creative director Ocean Quigley. The depth of the simulations in this game seem unreal.

The OUYA's Kickstarter is over, and they've raised $8.6 million to produce their consoles. I'm skeptical of them meeting their target delivery date (because so few Kickstarters ever do), but am cautiously watching the company in the next few months. I'll give them credit to the fact they answered all the questions about the console, even if all the answers weren't satisfactory to me.

I did a postmortem with CEO Julie Uhrman (while she was sitting an airport) yesterday. You can read it and a timeline of the OUYA here.
