A question, mes amis: let us imagine for the sake of argument that we are in the midst of a revolution that will lead, ultimately, to the complete porosity of governance; or at least to a position where no figure in authority can ever assume that any communication they make can be guaranteed to be secure. Acknowledging that the process of transition will involve harm being done - no revolution is without its victims - my question is this: is that imagined future better or worse for humanity than our present? And if it does lead to a better world, does it justify the hurt caused in getting there?
