Member Dues came to $100,531,465. Total revenue is $227, 811, 279. There are plenty more details in the source.

Where is the line drawn between guns (aka, small arms) and such weapons as tanks and rocket-propelled grenades (aka, heavy weaponry)? Is it drawn in the right place?

Why not? It's a good community but maybe allow for a slightly broader topic of discussion, that may help.

Forbes says ObamaCare is increasing individual insurance premiums by 41%. Is this a temporary market fluctuation, or a taste of things to come?

Both sides show only the information that supports their side, without any consideration for the other side. Surprise, surprise. Meanwhile, I'd rather see that missing comparison so I'd have some idea who was right.

Why do people own guns in America? The top reason by a margin of 24 percentage points is "Personal safety/protection."

I suppose no one is ever going to answer "to commit crimes," though.

They're not offering an explanation for why the 2nd Amendment comes up so rarely; your explanation fits just fine. Nothing in their article disputes that.

Besides, since the 2010 Supreme Court ruling personal protection is part of the 2nd Amendment anyway. You can claim that at least 60% cited the 2nd Amendment by that simple logic. They just didn't cite the 2nd Amendment explicitly, which makes little difference.

A life-long Democrat giving the Republican Party advice is like a 30-year-old straight person offering advice to the first real, honest-to-god gay person they've ever met: they probably genuinely believe that their advice will help, but it is more likely they're telling the recipient not to be themselves anymore.

A little news about my favorite Democrat. Before redistricting, he represented me and I was proud of it.

He wants ObamaCare to lack funds in the budget, but (unlike the Tea Party) he adamantly wants a budget passed and opposes the government shutdown. That's the Constitutional way to defund a program!

He was one of only two Democrats to vote to defund ObamaCare in the new budget.

Now, he's part of a bipartisan group dedicated to ending the government shutdown.
