Summer box office season officially kicks off May 6th, when the biggest genre in the world sees the arrival of what could turn out to be its absolute biggest entry to date. Thanks Jack! And honestly, while I did face a lot of nasty remarks accusing me of being paid off etc for reviews, a big part of why I wrote about it was to try to convince fans to avoid doing that same thing to OTHER reviewers now that Civil War reviews are coming out. I just see so many people convinced reviews are "paid for" every time a review contradicts their personal preferences/opinions, and I'm hoping to convince fans to declare a cease-fire in the war against each other and against reviewers.

Read my new interview with BATMAN V SUPERMAN producer Charles Roven, discussing the change from making the DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY to the new DC cinematic universe!

Heading into its third weekend of release, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice sits on roughly $730 million in global receipts and should hit $800 million on Sunday or Monday. Despite bad reviews and only moderate word of mouth, the film's record-setting opening weekend, lower foreign drops, and high audience scores from younger crowds and parents kept the film [...]

Another big interview from me today at Forbes -- read my discussion with #BatmanvSuperman  producer DEBORAH SNYDER!

http://www.forbes.com/sites/markhughes/2016/04/01/interview-deborah-snyder-talks-batman-v-superman-flash-wonder-woman-and-more/
With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice now sitting at about $555 million with Friday's estimated domestic receipts -- not including foreign totals, however, which should push the film well north of $570+ million worldwide -- it looks like the film will climb toward $690-$700+ million range over the rest of [...]

From me today at Forbes -- I address some of the biggest complaints about #BatmanvSuperman and explain why they completely miss the dominant themes of the movie!

http://www.forbes.com/sites/markhughes/2016/03/29/zack-snyder-loves-superman-and-batman-v-superman-proves-it
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has sparked a great deal of debate among fans, critics, and audiences. The film broke records with its massive $420 million worldwide opening weekend, the largest ever for a superhero film and fourth-largest global opening of any sort of film in history. Some audiences [...]

Absolutely, BvS is a love letter to DC Comics. And Superman is front and center to it!

I can understand the movie being a bit gloomy and dark but I seriously believe that For all our heroes things will improve and the world will become lighter and lighter. I just hope audience are patient enough and continue to support DC movies.

I think this Superman can be the definitive Superman.

Already one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time -- and one of the five most successful non-sequel animated features in history to boot -- Disney's Zootopia continues its impressive box office run by attempting to cross the $900 million mark this weekend. Whether or not it hops past that [...]
