Google introduces a new way to manage your e-mail.  It's much simpler and prettier than Gmail, and makes it easier to manage your tasks.  I recommend trying it out.

Act today: sign whitehouse.gov petition to tell the government to get a warrant to read your e-mail or online documents, photos, & videos.
U.S. government agencies claim they don't need a warrant to ask for private content—such as Gmail messages, documents, photos and YouTube videos. (Here at Google, we push back.) We urge reform to the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) to require a warrant for online info, just like for offline.

If you're in the U.S., sign this petition to the White House today—we need 100,000 signatures to guarantee a response: http://goo.gl/N2C7Uu

I'm excited to finally announce the release of the Google APIs Client Library for Java with version 1.16.0-rc!  Congrats to my fellow contributors +Nick Miceli and +Eyal Peled .

The biggest feature for this release is support for Push Notifications, which is a new protocol for Google APIs that we announced at Google I/O (see https://developers.google.com/events/io/sessions/328119818).  The work for the Java client library implementation was started by my summer intern from last year +Matthias Linder, so congrats go to him as well.
I'm proud to announce the latest version of the Java libraries for Google APIs - version 1.16.0-rc!
Great work by my fellow contributors +Yaniv Inbar and +Eyal Peled, and more great stuff right around the corner.

Congrats +Eric Wiseblatt !
Today we are announcing an initial preview release of the
Google API Client Libraries for C++, an open source toolkit for accessing Google APIs and cloud services using C++. The source code is available on GitHub at https://github.com/google/google-api-cpp-client with documentation at http://google.github.io/google-api-cpp-client/latest/index.html .

This initial release provides a programming model and implementation for interacting with cloud services over HTTP that use OAuth 2.0 to protect private user data, including third party applications hosted on Google Cloud Platform or other HTTP based servers. The toolkit also provides high level specialized APIs tailored to each of Google’s APIs.

A complete listing of these APIs can be found at http://google.github.io/google-api-cpp-client/latest/available_service_apis.html .

The libraries are currently limited to Unix based platforms including Linux and OS X. Broader support will be available in future releases. As this is an early preview, many advanced features such as push notification and resumable uploads are not yet provided.

We encourage C++ developers to check it out and provide feedback
to our mailing list at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/google-api-cpp-client .

I'm excited to announce the 1.15.0-rc release of the Google APIs Client Library for Java!  3 years since our initial Alpha release, we've finally achieved our first release candidate.  Kudos also to the other client library contributors +Nick Miceli  and +Eyal Peled , as well as +Jacob Smullyan and +Tony Aiuto who manage the code generation server.

Highlights:
* New Beta annotation (http://goo.gl/y7yiu) for the Beta features that are more experimental or aren't yet fully baked.
* FindBugs plugin to run on your application to detect usage of Beta features.
* Support for Compute Engine service accounts
* Google API libraries are finally on the central Maven repository (hurray!)
