Here's a way parents and their kids can raise awareness and funds for diabetes research this Halloween: Join the DRI Treat Me to a Cure Halloween Campaign. It's so simple...it's spooky! Download the artwork to wrap around your cannister/bucket (as shown in video below). Then, instead of shouting "Trick or Treat," ask your friends and neighbors to "Treat Me to a Cure!"

Don't forget to also enter our Treat Me to a Cure Kids' Costume picture contest: https://diabetesresearch.org/Treat

CONTEST: It's almost Halloween, which means it's time for the DRI Treat Me to a Cure Kids Picture Contest! Enter now through November 3 for a chance to win a prize. To enter:

1. Take a picture of your child in his/her Halloween costume holding a can/bucket wrapped in the Treat Me to a Cure artwork (Download & print here: https://diabetesresearch.org/Treat).

2. Email it to us at j.parra1@drif.org and we'll post it on our Treat Me to a Cure Contest Facebook photo album -- where you and your loved ones can vote for your child's picture by "liking" it. The picture with the most likes will win, so the earlier your enter, the more time you'll have to get likes!

Treat Me to a Cure is a great way to raise awareness and funds for diabetes research while Trick or Treating! Here's last year's winner, Caius, in his Dino costume.

"We decided to treat the topic of diabetes because I am type 1 diabetic since I was nine years old...we thought of DRI because I really think that today you are the greatest hope for millions of people." - Roberta Marino

When they were tasked with creating a public service announcement for their class project at the Academy of Fine Arts in Italy, Roberta and her classmate Simona Amato created this heartwarming claymation depicting something she, and millions alike, live with every day -- type 1 diabetes. They got help from thier American friend Geo Johnson as a speaker and Fabrizio Savoca for the soundtrack. We are so thankful for Roberta and Simona's support of our work toward a cure and for thinking of us for this project. Kudos to all involved for making such a wonderful video -- which is a big t1spiration for us.
