In 2009, an aggressive effort was begun to enforce the Supreme Court's decision in a ruling that requires states to eliminate unnecessary segregation of persons with disabilities and to ensure that persons with disabilities receive services in the most integrated setting appropriate to their needs.
Minnesota's Olmstead Plan was implemented over a year ago. The Olmstead Sub-cabinet has committed to an annual process to update and extend the Plan. Seeking public comment is an important part of this process. Until January 19th, they have opened it up to the public for comment on the proposed amendments.
Follow the link to read through the proposed amendments and provide feedback to improve the Plan.
