My gf suggested this place as she come here often for lunch and hadn't experience it for dinner. Ample free parking in the back. I really loved their service here, everyone is so courteous and extremely attentive! While waiting I was automatically greeted warmly by one of the server and place to my seat immediately by a host. The restaurant atmosphere brings in a very romantic feel that I love, my gf said it reminded her of the Godfather because a lot of the servers had a strong italian accent. We had warm bread and a fancy contraption that pours oil on one side and balsamic in the other. My girlfriend highly recommended the tomato bisque soup that comes with pieces of bread mixed in ..it was just as she said SO good, i licked the bowl clean! our waiter spoke really fast and I kind of felt a bit pressure when it came down to ordering but whatever he suggested was actually really good. A bit on the oily side but it was good enough to save for the next day. We packed our entree to go and ordered two dessert Penna Cotta with strawberries and the Lemon meringue cake that was so airy and the perfect amount of sour that i accidentally ate it all without sharing with my friend ..opps! great times!

The Patio at Celestino is evidently the place to see and be seen in Pasadena. I was taken there recently for lunch by someone seeking a donation for their Pasadena non-profit organization. The patio was the perfect setting for a sunny winter day. The staff was friendly and the waiter very professional. The food? Not so impressive. Maybe I ordered the wrong items. I'll have to return sometime and try their much-touted black and white ravioli filled with shrimp.

Authentic Italian dining at its best. The menu is half in english and half italian. The cream based food is very rich in flavor. The staff is excellent. They have a few rooms that can sit larger parties and can do special menus for any special occasion.

I've been to Celestino twice and it was pretty much the same experience both times. The pasta is good, the appetizers are passable, the service is italian, and the ambiance is on the loud side. FOOD: I've tried two pastas here... the black and white with scallops and the spiral (green, long spiral pasta... not your standard spiral) with sausage. Pastas are made in house and both of these were good. SERVICE: The waiters here basically speak italian with some english so it may be hard to understand for some... especially if you have problems hearing (not uncommon as it was quite loud here both times I visited). They are generally friendly here though and provide adequate service. AMBIANCE: It can get loud here. This is a place i'd go to with friends. You probably wouldn't want to come here for first date or if you are trying to impress. EXTRAS: On both visits, my bread dish was dirty. There appeared to be some oil on it already and it looked like some crumbs? Strangely, on both visits, my setting was missing silverware. Dirty bread dish, napkin, but no silverware... PARKING: There is a large lot behind the restaurant. Parking wasn't an issue for me but i've only been here for dinner so I have no idea what the parking situation is like during other hours.

One of the best traditional Italian restaurants in town. It's hard enough to find homemade pasta in the area, especially when prices are this reasonable and the food this good. The atmosphere is casual but can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. I've never had a dish here I didn't completely enjoy and the service is always very attentive. Trust the specials.

Well, old fart place, but mediocre food and service. They will bring bread and butter first, bread is heated and they think if old bread is heated will mix with fresh one....hello.... Then, either they dont have a wine list, or server was laisy enough too bring it, instead he offered Rose (which we requested), the one he did not know what, when and how... the Rose was horrible. the restaurant with this ambition should not get these type of bottles, the one you can buy for 3-4$ in Vons . Proseco smells like vodka, and when you ask for "mimosa" they will look at you like you are ordering chou main in I talian restaurant. Carpacchio is very good, though. Seafood pasta that they proud of is, in fact overcooked, but bolognese is good. Overall, not worth going there second time.

Where the geriatric dine. Be prepared to wait a long time for your mediocre food and get pushed around by the retirees crowding the place to capacity in the early dining hours. As fast as the back of the kitchen is with getting food out, the front of the house is as slow as patrons milling about waiting to sit for their uninspired fare.
