Here's an image I'm still working on. It's one of those 1 in a million shots and I'm still trying to make it perfect :)

In February Maggie & I went to John Forrest National Park in Mundaring for a day out to get some exercise & new photos. After walking around the Glen Brook Dam (a beautiful walk by the way) we set up at a picnic bench for lunch and a glass of wine in the shade next to the river under the trees.

After lunch rather than just head of we decided to sit and relax for a while while listening to our audio books. After a few minutes just sat not moving the wildlife started to return and I began taking pics of the birds that were all around us.

After about 30 mins this little guy appeared started hopping all around a very large rock not very far from me. I got several photos of him looking around and then he suddenly took off and I snapped the shutter as fact as I could thinking I would have another shot of a birds tail if I was lucky.

Imagine my surprise when I got home and saw the bird in the shot taking off just inches from the rock with just the right amount of motion blur, the rock pin sharp and the background nicely blurred with plenty of #bokeh :)

Now I just have to finish processing the image to make sure the bird stands out enough to be the primary focus.

I've seen many of these #blurred tree images around and, although I've heard some people complain that they're too common place, I think they look quite cool :)

There are two basic ways to create these images, you either use a slow shutter speed and move the camera vertically as you expose the image or you take a normal photo and post process it in Adobe #Photoshop.

This image is from Boranup Forest in #MargaretRiver, #WesternAustralia and I've used the second approach to add the motion and artistic effects :)

It's been a while since I posted anything so here's a token forest floor shot of a very interesting & colourful dead tree we came across whilst walking in John Forrest National Park a few months ago. #WesternAustralia

My latest image release is a black and white image of Joondalup Resort.

This is my first ever black & white image and it was fun to learn some new techniques.

Check out my blog post below to get the story behind creating this image.

Ironically after all the Photography we have done in the Swan Valley I took this image of a Vine Leaf in my back yard and applied a fair bit of artistic license to it, enjoy :)

We photographed the official opening of the Yanchep Central Shopping Centre today for Yanchep Beach Joint Venture and witnessed the signing of a contract with Edith Cowan to build a University in Yanchep within the next few years.

While looking for a place for a late lunch in the City of #Perth I took a few snaps of some of the buildings.

This on is taken from St. Georges Square where I found a unique view of the new #BHP Billiton skyscraper.

The image has been treated to my own #HDR recipe along with a touch of Photo Effects from +onOne Software.

Sadly it turns out that our intended lunch at #Matsuri Japanese Restaurant wasn't to be as they shut at 2:30 and this was to be a 3pm lunch lol.

Interestingly the #Kailis Bros Leederville restaurant was still serving so we had a great lunch there instead :)
