I wished this wasn't a comparison, but it is due to Lin's past popularity. Obviously, Porzingis is better suited for the game in so many ways. Height, agility, shooting touch, and rebounding awareness are just a few of his superb traits.
Lin on the other hand (This may be biased due to what I've experienced in the D-League) fell into the perfect storm. There is so many players that have put up stats like Lin but don't get the recognition. After he was assigned to Erie, he had a triple-double in his only D-League game that season.
The Knicks immediately recalled him with D'Antoni in the hot seat and more-so that multiple PGs were injured (Baron Davis, Mike Bibby and later Toney Douglas). Difference was that he remained hot since the triple-double. That season in NY remains to be his best.
