Thank you, Honey Maid Snacks, for a BEAUTIFUL and strong rebuttal to anti-gay anger over your #ThisIsWholesome ad that included same-sex parents: youtu.be/cBC-pRFt9OM

THIS is how you respond to mindless hatred, ignorance, and bigotry. I hope other companies take note.

UGH- Nothing like "small government" conservative politicians stepping into your personal life to put your marriage "on hold", right Utah?

Utah Governor says the state will not recognize the over 1300 same-sex marriages already performed in the state:
“Based on counsel from the Attorney General’s Office regarding the Supreme Court decision, state recognition of same-sex marital status is ON HOLD until further notice.” http://www.buzzfeed.com/chrisgeidner/utah-marriages-of-same-sex-couples-on-hold-pending-appeal-go

BREAKING: Another Victory! The #Hawaii Senate has passed the #MarriageEquality Bill 19-4 (following the earlier successful house vote)! The bill now goes to the governor, who has confirmed he will sign!

Welcome State #16- the state that was ground zero for the modern marriage equality movement 20 yrs ago (Baehr v Lewin- Consideration of marriage equality by the Hawaii Supreme Court in 1993 sparked the political backlash that led to DOMA). As the bill sponsor said, "What began with Justice Levinson's decision 20 years ago comes full circle today. The arc of justice bends because we.. bend it ourselves, towards justice."

This is an INCREDIBLY important read->""Religious Liberty": The Next Big Front in the Culture Wars"

"The deeper question in the debate over religious liberty raises is whether sexual orientation and gender identity should be classified and protected in the same way race is. No one today makes the argument that a for-profit employer should be able to deny services to blacks or Asians; the public consensus has become that racial discrimination deserves no place in society. It is religious conservatives' great fear that moral opposition to homosexuality and same-sex unions will assume the same status. "

I didn't think I could cry anymore until I read this: Tears of sadness, joy after same-sex marriage vote

"The historic Statehouse push to legalize same-sex marriage in Illinois was bookended by two stories of love — one involving the euphoria of a wedding proposal, the other involving a legislator’s dying son."
