Uber and the "Sharing" economy!
A California Judge just cleared the way for as many as 160,000 Uber drivers to sue the company in an effort to be reclassified as permanent employees.

Anyone using that term sharing economy loses all credibility out of the gate.

Ready for your close up?
The Bay Area will be showcased something like Oz, the Emerald City, in the aerial videos that will be produced for Super Bowl 50. Everything seems aligned to produce world-class beauty across the region and its foothills. On Saturday, for instance, it was clear across the region, except for some light clouds atop Mount Hamilton east of San Jose, on Mount Diablo above Walnut Creek, and a higher level of broken clouds above that. Just above the ...

What?
It’s no secret that San Francisco residents are pissed about Super Bowl 50 invading their city. But now they can take that piss public with the city’s first open-air urinal, where you can pee freely, starting today.

Boom and bust. What goes up will come down.
Wannabe entrepreneurs are still piling in to San Francisco, but there’s a sense that time is running out on the exuberant startup world

+J. Henry Goins When I read the types of "needs" the five hundred phase I start-ups plan to serve, I see far too much private capital chasing an over saturated market.   During the 1970's, the "Chicago School" reasoned that high taxes and public expenditures had "crowded out" more productive private investments.   Regardless of whether that was ever true, the pendulum has certainly swung too far in the other direction.

The dreamers disease. We just want a bike path on western span of the Bay Bridge
After the Super Bowl leaves town San Francisco can stop vandalizing corporate statues and go back to focusing on more important projects, like imagining the day the Bay Bridge bike path might finally cross the entire San Francisco Bay.

yeah, that ramp is ridiculous. I agree with the author: steal a lane, dedicate to bikes. Steal two more lanes, dedicate to light rail and buses.

The Super Bowl
And here we thought taking down the transit wires would be the worst of it. San Francisco is under siege from the NFL and the people there don’t like it one bit. Behold the devastation that Super Bowl 50 hath wrought upon a little city named Frisco.

I think north of Market is where ships were used as landfill. This side of and south of Market is a bit more solid. When they were digging they found a frozen Mammoth in the ground. If and when there is an earthquake I don't want to be east of Montgomery and north of Market. The same thing (or worse ) will happen that happened to the Marina in the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake.
