Don't you dare go here and order a boh! I love going to max's on weeknights, or early on Friday or Saturday. That way you can get a spot at the bar. The bartenders are incredibly knowledgeable about the beers and can help you try something new that's similar to things you like. They have a lot of local beers too, highlighted on the menu. Good place to congregate to watch sports and have some food. It gets unbearably packed on the Friday and Saturday nights.

By far my FAVORITE bar in Fells Point. Let's be real, it's my favorite bar, period! the bartenders are great, friendly, funny and attentive. Their selection of beer is incredible. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and will be able to suggest a beer or 2 for you to try. They also have a great kitchen - they have more then just your typical bar fare. The atmosphere is low-key and great place to enjoy great beer.

This place has one of the best draft and bottle beer selections I have ever seen, hands down. Ambiance is awesome. You will feel welcomed and accepted here. This is a must stop destination if you are a beer lover, do not pass Max's up without stopping by. They know how to buy beer here.

TERRIBLE experience. This establishment isn't worth 1 star. We approached the bar and waited patiently to be waited on. The bartender ignored us as he served a man as well as several other customers who arrived after us. My friends and I were puzzled because we were being ignored. The rude and unprofessional bar tender said, "I serve my friends first," with an attitude and walked away, as if we did something. Of course we left and went somewhere else and had a great night despite being pretty put off by the male bartender at Max's. We will NEVER go back. We had a great weekend aside from how we were treated there. It was a Saturday night and the bartender is a jerk. Rumor has it they don't like "tourists" at Max's, then that should be displayed on their "specials" board.

Great beer undermined by horrible bartender. Walked away while trying to place food order which, unsurprisingly came out incorrect. Ignored me when trying to get check and Mr Charming was offended that I actually wanted to review the bill before giving him approval to run my card. Conveniently, no manager on duty (or so another bartender told me). Too bad the bartender does not work for tips, oh wait he does ...

I was told, before travelling to Baltimore, that I had to stop in at Max's. I can see why, but it's not exactly the atmosphere for me. The beer list, mind you, is staggering, and it's clearly a local favorite. I hate ordering from the bar, though, especially when you have to make your way through a press of people to do so. I'm a fat man. I try not to press my fat on people in crowds. Definitely go to try an exhaustive list of local beers. As for me... I'm glad I have The Saucer in my hometown of Charlotte.

One ofy favorite spots in Fells. Amazing place for tap beer. Every changing and always has something very interesting to try. Their "rare and obscure" nights are my favorite. Highly recommended.
