Have decided it is time to retire the GC4C website. It hasn't been active in years. Last year, I renewed it and thought I'd try to revitalize it, but have not. GC4C will live on through the social media sites (mostly Facebook, really), that have made dedicated forums much less relevant.

I was unsure whether I would renew the main GC4C website hosting or not, but decided to go ahead with it. I have, however, disabled the forums for at least the time being due to persistent spam and the lack of time to keep up with it. I am going to work on cleaning up the forums an then decide what to do. Please visit us on Facebook, Google Plus and Twitter. I believe I've cleaned all the spam and spam accounts. Now, need to see about updating the forums software, if we will re-open them.

Website is back up (after some time). I will be working with our hosting service to update the forums, so we can open it back up to new members. Still wondering, though, if it is worth maintaining a separate site and forums. May decide to simply keep the site, but close the forums, so we don't have the headache of fighting spammers. I've also come to think that it may be better for Christian geocachers to be more integrated in the general caching community than to have a private clubhouse to gather in. At least with Facebook and Google Plus, it is much easier to share with our broader list of friends.

PRAYER REQUEST for a former associate pastor of mine, Lee Ruby.  Lee had gone in for some tests last week after the doctors found a spot on his brain.  He found out today that it is cancer.  He is unsure about the treatment and will let us know once a decision is made on how to proceed.

PRAYER REQUEST for former coworker, Lyle.  He has been admitted to Walter Reed Army Medical Center, DC to pancreatic cancer (high morbidity rate) and a disorder of his bile duct.  He sounded weak and feeble and by the frequency of the silence moments during conversation with another coworker, he seems concerned about his outlook and prognosis.  He is scheduled for surgery on Friday (7 June).

My church has started a new online that folks can do on their own schedule, while still participating in a group discussion.  ALL are welcome.  I'd invite you to check it out and join in.  +Dave Self
