Hi. It is with incredible sadness that I provide this update.
Thank you for your wonderful insights and tributes to my love who passed away June 15, 2013. Jonathan would have appreciated your comments and thoughts immensely.
Originally I wanted to pay tribute to him via a HIRL-HOA (thank you to you who volunteered to help!) but unfortunately when I consulted with other family members the preference is for a quiet private ceremony with specifically no use of social media. To share it so widely across the world seems too daunting and painful. I hope you can understand and respect their wishes.
Please rest assured that he will be sent off in a most meaningful way – a way that I have no doubt Jonathan would have been absolutely delighted with (e.g. one more of his dreams will be fulfilled albeit in a revised way). What you can do is to give him a toast when you have a chance, smile or laugh when you remember Jonathan the man. You know he would be laughing back with a badass comment back’atcha.
Thank you so very much for being such a meaningful part of his life in the last two years. He told me many times these were the happiest days of his life. For those who engaged with him, he enjoyed and respected your exchanges even if he may/may not have agreed with you.
As for me, I need to take a little break from G+. G+ has been a major part of my life since July 2011 and I know I will be back some day . But right now, the grief I’m experiencing is overwhelming and is particularly unbearable when I sign in and see the streams where I know JC would have jumped in to enjoy and we would have discussed afterwards offline. I feel the pain others express as well as my own. Also, it’s crazy but I’m still watching for his posts, listening for his chat and hangout chimes. Intellectually, I know he’s gone but emotionally, I still can’t believe it. I’m very sad to have come to the realization that I need a sabbatical from G+ to make progress with the healing process. I hope to connect with you again when I return.
In the meantime Plussers, stay well . I wish you the best G+ and as well as IRL adventures. ♥♥
I hope these words which Jonathan shared with me inspire you as they are inspiring me:
"You must understand the whole of life, not just one little part of it. That is why you must read, that is why you must look at the skies, that is why you must sing and dance, and write poems and suffer and understand, for all that is life."
