Cool!Oct 18, 2012
Hmmm, installed onto a box as dual boot with Windows 7, manual partition, MBR to /dev/sda, rebooted and it went straight back into Windows: looks like Grub2 didn't install? Tried a second install, still didn't work. Had to manually install GRUB2, running OK now although I had to manually installed the AMD drivers as well.Oct 18, 2012
+John Layt O_O ... I'm not sure how that happened, because if it were a issue, it would have promptly been picked up in ISO testing .....
And if by AMD drivers you mean the proprietary graphics drivers, you always have to do that :)Oct 19, 2012
Thanks +Rohan Garg but I tried on a second machine, single drive, no other OS, did custom partitioning with a new partition table and again the boot loader failed to install. Tried manual repair which failed on some GRUB2 errors. So did a full install with guided partitioning and it worked fine. My conclusion is there is something funny in manual partitioning that causes the GRUB2 install to silently fail.Oct 20, 2012
