Almost ruined our evening of dancing next door at Whiskey River. First, don't sit at the tables near the bar - people use the high tables to stand around in a crowd, and you'll end up with somebody's butt hanging over your dinner plate. I ordered a burger, fries and wedge salad. My wife ordered a ceasar salad, and a salmon dish with risotto(I think?) that was supposed to have squash. My wedge salad arrived and was 90% hard white core - almost couldn't cut it. They took it back, but my burger arrived almost immediately - before my salad came back. Within minutes, they came back and grabbed my burger and said "oops, not your burger" (hope whoever got it didn't miss the fries I ate!). In the meantime, my wife said her ceasar was bland - bottled non-descript ceasar dressing on limp lettuce. My salad then arrives with my wife's main course (salmon). Wedge salad was OK, but blue cheese dressing wasn't particularly tasty (again, probably bottled). My wife's main course was so bad, she barely ate it. The salmon was so overcooked it was hard, dry and difficult to eat. The squash was actually cucumbers (yes, cucumbers!) My burger arrived and I thought 'Wow!" big burger! Actually not... it was a skimpy little patty of meat with enormous (inch-thick) chunks of iceberg lettuce core to prop it up and make the whole thing look big (what is it with hard lettuce cores with these guys?). Once I pulled those inedible lettuce chunks out, it was a burger that would not compare favorably to Wendy's. We had a polite conversation with the manager (really, I was polite!) and he took my wife's plate off the tab. We still tipped as if it was a full ticket. We won't be back. Next time we go to Whiskey River, we'll eat someplace else.

Great place with many beer selections, awesome appetizers and friendly staff. It is a popular destination, so expect a wait and kinda loud.

This is a great place for happy hour and for craft beer and appetizers in Houston. Their burgers are excellent. They keep their own brews and have some guest taps too. There tends to be a 15 minute wait for tables that is typical. You can usually go right in and sit in the bar area without a wait.

8/22 Fri night dinner out with my forever missed Sista Katie & friend Whitey...we arrived pretty late in the eve, I'd say around 11pm... anywhere else (minus your 24hr IHOP/waffle house kinda place) we'd of been rushed out, told there was no more or turned away completely-instead greated and seated in a cozy dim lite both, with the perfect waiter Richard T, for our table. He gave us ample time to wander around the well published, nicely formatted drink&food menus, which let me just add the fried artichokes were !FAB!...anyways, we closed the place down! Will def be coming back and with more time to spare. Great place to hang out n catch up! Clean, comfortable, awesome food, and great service too. Gold star :) night yall

This place used to be great. Now it's just good. In its heyday, they had $2 crafts beers on Tuesday, $5 mini pizzas, happy hour restaurant-wide (you didn't have to sit at the bar for specials), and a friendly consistent staff that took care of their regulars. But that's long gone. Now its just $1 off beers (so they're like $4.50 on special), happy hour only in the bar, and varied staff with high turn over. Not quite the place it used to be. But that aside, food is still good - especially the pizzas. Their craft beers are expensive but good (though if you are already into craft beer, they are a little lighter in taste). And while the staff is varied, they are still friendly. Place gets packed at peak hours - so come off-hours or be ready to wait.
