Hi +Måns Peres
, you're right! I was going to do the editable field with the arrow at first, but I was afraid that that would make the arrow touch target too small. In addition, you would still need to type in the percentage yourself to begin with a value.
I've had people advise that it would be convenient to just start with common tip percentage values. So, I decided to use only the dropdown with default percentages at the moment because it will choose the first item (15%) automatically and immediately calculate the rest of the values when you enter in the sale. The touch target is the entire percentage box as well as the arrow. To make it even more convenient for some people, I've implemented a Settings menu so that people can specify their own default percentages (instead of 15, 18, 20, they can populate it with whatever they want).
I think this will cover the use cases for most everybody and streamline the use even more. If you really want to enter in a unique percent value one time, then there is the custom field at the bottom of the dropdown. Rounding the total will also continue to give you the recalculate tip percent at the bottom. That's the one drawback: custom and automatically calculate tip percents will show at the bottom of the dropdown below the Custom field, which doesn't look very good. I'm still thinking about how to tackle that.
If you think that the editable field and spinner really would be useful, then I might start working on that version and see how I feel about it! Thanks for your comment!
