Perhaps we are safer for it?
We may never know what inspired kitty to use the blinds as a ladder last night ... but SOMETHING did. As this is what we found this morning. #youbetterbeextracutethiscaterdayoryoucouldbelookingforanewhuman

Having seen some activity last night I have come to the conclusion that it was most likely ... a moth. I feel much safer now that anyone walking by can see so vividly how well my house is protected.

The code I have moved my chorder to is now posted on github and additional documentation is on the chorder wiki. More will be posted in the near future but I am quite happy with this BLE version of the chorder and the Adafruit Feather really simplifies the project.

Code on github - https://github.com/clc/chorder

Project on the Chorder Wiki - http://chorder.cs.vassar.edu/featherchorder.

As usual, the chords themselves are all in a separate file - ChordMappings.h - so if you want to change them up feel free. We have added a bunch of Android specific bindings and I am finding them quite useful.

If you decide to play with it, please let me know.

To give you an idea just how simple it is, here is the wiring diagram:
A BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) Chorder using the Adafruit Feather 32u4 Bluefruit LE. This board has the LiPo charger and BLE transceiver built in, so all that is required is attaching the keys, an on/off switch, plugging in the battery and programming it (over a standard micro usb cable).

Saw the new Star Wars movie today, did not realize an old friend (that I took with me the 2nd time I saw the original movie and again today) would feature so prominently. (No, not the cat, the flash bracket Light Saber.)

Thinking back, I wonder if I was perhaps the first person to go to Star Wars with my own Light Saber? It was the day after it opened in 1977. O.K. Here is my Star Wars story...

On the day the original opened we went in Star Trek outfits a friend of mine had made. The theatre manager called us over and offered us a job. He wanted us to make costumes from the new movie and walk around the mall (Westfarms Mall in Ct.) for pay! So we said we would need to see the movie a few times to make sketches and such, he gave us a bunch of tickets.

By the 2nd time I saw the move (still the first day) I was convinced Luke's Light Saber was a lightly modified flash bracket off a Speed Graphic - the camera I learned on and had at home. So when we went back the next day to watch the film a few more times (you know, for research), I brought it with me.

Later that day we met with the manager, he apologized and said the thing was so popular he didn't need to give it any additional publicity. By way of apology he walked over to the ticket reels and spun off several hundred tickets which the four of us split up. For the last few weeks of High School that year we went to see Star Wars with our friends almost every day with those tickets. The only other thing playing was "One on One" with Robby Benson which I as recall my girlfriend and I sat through once. The rest of the tickets went to seeing Star Wars over and over again.

Things I have never said to students or coworkers. But this made me laugh, and this week that in itself is important.

Playing with the Adafruit feather BLE version. Once again using +Charles Chen's arduino code for the chorder which he modified for the feather last week. I've been tinkering with adding android media and volume chords as well as a reset chord. Once cleaned up we will post it.

Chording is working well, but there are some issues with BT. You need to forget and re-pair if you turn off bt on the phone. In other situations it does bond as I would expect.

To the right of the feather and leather chorder is one ready for a feather made using the 3D printable files +Minhnhat Le did up which are posted at chorder.cs.vassar.edu

Ok, 110mAh battery is too small.  I do not seem to get through a full day of regular use. It is giving me about 8hrs of use.  I need to do a little more testing, but I think something in the 300mAh (3.7V Li-ion)  may be just fine.
