Went to see Brewer & Shipley perform, "One Toke Over the Line," and some of their newer songs. Arrived early and enjoyed a nice glass of Zinfandel house wine and a wonderful special of Salmon Kabobs with vegetable & rice. The price was reasonable, the food delicious and I had a great time. Excellent location, staff was friendly, enjoyed the regular musicians before the "Far Gone Productions" show, street parking, cozy atmosphere, good times!

Worst service ever. From water boy (who told us he was too tired) to server who made us feel like we were imposing... it was a disaster. Would NOT recommend to anyone. Muscles were full of sand...and I mead full of sand, could be scrapped from shell. Chicken was hard (?)...We were the only people in the restaurant too and the service was terrible. Save your money and go elsewhere.

We went to this restaurant and we were very disappointed. Steak Lombardi ordered medium rare came back very well done, tough, and overly smothered with sauce. The best part of the meal was the bread! Stuffed mushrooms were tasteless. Ordered a pizza but the pizza received was not what we ordered. Servers pushed drinks often asking if we wanted more even though the glasses were not empty. The walls were dirty and the lighting poor. I previously dined at this restaurant a few years ago and found the food and service pretty good. I decided to check it out again - too bad! Worcester has so many wonderful restaurants, but this is not one of them. Stay clear and try another venue.

We tried out this restaurant the night Carrie Underwood came to town. They had an "event menu" instead of their regular faire, so I can't speak to their pizzas or other items, but their "fine dining" is anything but...! The menu averaged $22-$25 a plate, which seemed pricey since I was expecting a quick meal, but ok. There was bread, served with herbed oil and canned grated cheese. I asked if there was a dress code, based on the behavior of the hosts. Assured there was not, we were seated in what seemed to be a typical tacky Italian restaurant. The waitress came within 5 minutes to ask if we wanted drinks, etc. We explained we were going to the concert next door, so we'd skip right to entrees to keep things quick. She assured me the event menu was designed to ensure the food goes out quickly. I think they need to rethink that menu. It goes out fast enough, but it's hardly worth the asking price. i could have made better at home. One server passed by, taking our plates, the bread basket, and the oil and cheese. I told her that another server said he was bringing us more bread. She was about to put the dishes back on our table after she'd stacked them together in her hand. Gross! When she saw my face, she continued on and walked away with it, never returning to replace the plates or the condiments. The other server brought us more bread, but with no plates to eat it from, we were left hanging until our meals arrived. Our waitress was kind, but we didn't see her very much, except to order, to deliver the food, and to present the check. She kept pushing drinks, which I declined, as I had my son with me. I paid $25 a plate for what should have been 2 dinners of sirloin skewers over garlic pasta. My 16 year old son mentioned that the penne was overcooked, which it was. It was also served in too much oil, with extra greens and vegetables not mentioned in the menu description. It's a good thing we weren't allergic to anything. Half of skewers on his plate were mostly fat and gristle. I was very disappointed, to say the least. Had it been my plate, it would have been sent back immediately, but my son didn't make the connection until he had started eating. The waitress didn't seem interested when she took his pate away, mostly uneaten. She didn't ask if everything was ok or if he was just full. I indicated to her that the meat was very fatty, but she didn't seem to care. I gave the customary 20% tip, but I will never return, and I wouldn't encourage anyone else to go there either.

Will never go back! Went to celebrate my daughter's birthday on Thursday June 12. Arrived just before 5 and were seated immediately. There were a couple of other tables occupied. A male server and a bus person. Our server was Andrea, she arrived a little bit after we sat and was put on the floor immediately. She was great and by the end of our dinner actually bad for her. I ordered a taste of one of their chardonnays - out of it but our server brought me two others to try. One of which I noticed was listed on the wine list as only being sold by the bottle. I opted for neither of what was brought. We ordered calamari appetizer - out of it One of my daughters wanted a dish that had the calamari but decided to have a Seafood Scampi dish recommended by our server that they occasionally do as a special. Both my daughter and I ordered that dish. Unfortunately they were out of lobster we found out after our order was put in. So instead we decided on a couple of other dishes. The birthday girl ordered a salmon caesar salad, we were charged $20 same as a salmon entree!! When the birthday dessert arrived with a candle it was placed in front of one of my other daughters! Would not recommend!

The food was really good.My problem was that there was not enough staff working. Two people to take care of the food and the bar on a night of a show was not enough. We spent too much time waiting. We actually had to ask for the check when the food was delivered. The thing I was most upset about was when ordering off of the wine list there was only one choice of Pinot noir. It was a Francis Ford Coppola which I have had many times before and is quite good. At $38 a bottle it was affordable since I knew what to expect. However what we were served was a Pinot noir called BIG FIRE which tasted like a very inexpensive wine, very watery and left a tingle on your tongue. Needless to say I was not impressed. The bill, the same, $38 and so not worth it. I felt that I was duped. Not sure if I would go back which is a shame because the food was very good!

So the Viva Bene Ristorante was absolutely terrible. Once a four-star Italian restaurant back in 2005, it's very clearly gone down hill. We were separated from the other customers in the place for no reason, our food came after everyone else had been served (including people that came in at least ten minutes after us), and our food was poorly made. I ordered grilled portobello mushrooms that was served with angel hair pasta tossed in a pesto sauce. First problem? The mushrooms were over-done and they tasted sour. They shouldn't be sour. As for the pesto, it was somehow both bland as sin and spicy. It should have a light but creamy and earthy flavor. My mum ordered a steak at medium-rare and it came well-done and the pizza we ordered to take home was meant to have pepperoni, olives, and mushrooms. Instead of olives, it had onions which I'm allergic to. The walls were dirty, the lighting dim, and the service very slow not to mention that where we were also placed, the vent made it very noisy so we had to speak loudly to talk over it. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The location was very good and we were able to get seated very quickly. Our waiter was a little slow and we kept having to ask him for drinks. The food was not up to par as our last visit but edible. I am not sure if they changed their recipies but last time we had better service and flavor.
