Here is a detail of the street from yesterdays post of Denmark Street. The painting is over a meter tall so it's not so easy to see the details and all the folks scuttling about.

My Oil Painting of Denmark Street In London.
I loved the contrast of the older buildings in front, Like ragged teeth, and above the modern Centre Point.

For almost a century, Denmark Street has been the go to place for British Popular music. They have all recorded and played here: David Bowie, Jimmy Hendrix, The Kinks and The Sex Pistols even lived here for a while. I believe the lavatory the Sex Pistols used has been listed for preservation.

Oh, it's for sale if you want to treat yourself for Christmas.

See more about Denmark Street and sales on my blog http://www.liamofarrell.com/2017/12/a-painting-of-denmark-street-london/

I was recently commissioned to do a couple of paintings of Hampstead in London. Here is one is of Heath Street. To the right is William Greens' superbly designed Northern Line station of Hampstead. The brave decision of the ‘Oxblood’ tiles and semi circular windows indicative of many of the best London Underground stations.
You can see more about it on my blog here http://www.liamofarrell.com/2017/12/painting-hampstead-london/

I did this painting a Christmas or two ago of Piccadilly Circus in London
As it’s Christmas, I wanted to get in plenty of 'hurry' and bag carrying going on. I was also keen to get the wrapping around the fountain in. It is always wrapped up at Christmas because drunken Londoners climb on it, some also clamer further up and bend dear old Anteros’ bow. That’s London for you.

I have just added a video to my YouTube channel.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMJBnvIEdBo&t=28s
People often ask me to show them my Molskine sketchbooks. They like to see the bones of how I work including all the mini sketches that are scattered about all over the place. I keep a sketchbook with me almost all the time.
All comments and subscriptions are appreciated. Many thanks.

Being as it's a bit chilly today I thought I would post this allotment painting i did a while back. I love painting vegetables. I had to give up my allotment because I was ironically painting too many allotments. Anyway, have just added to my site as a limited edition print. I visited Cornwall in October, and in between showers I painted this scene of the village of Zennor. Rather odd it see a telephone box out on a moor so i painted it in despite the wind and cold. I have just popped it on my site for sale.

Ah just sold my painting of Liverpool Street Station from my site. I had used the station for 20 years before I painted it, and it was only then that I realised it had two towers above the entrance. So much for 'The artist as an observer'. A really good days painting though.
Plenty more on the site if you're keen.
