I am queen of forgetting one single ingredient in my cooking. So today I made pumpkin pie. How hard can it be? Premade crust. Pumpkin in a can. All the ingredients are listed RIGHT THERE....
The pie looks lovely. I cooked it just right (after the fact, because I figured I might as well practice cooking it right even though I realized early on there was one pretty major deficiency in this pie). Did pretty crimps in the crust (can't screw up pre-made crust. It ain't great, but it ain't crud either, so that'll do). Stuck the toothpick in to check if it was done (it wasn't) so then I licked off the goo stuck to the toothpick and thought ... hmmm, salty?
