Check cashing scams :

Cashing bad checks is a crime. Do you not be fooled if someone asks you to cash some checks because they do not have a checking account and you can use somebody else's account to do it. These people may offer you money to do it. Do not do it. There are many arrests made for people who are cashing bad checks against someone else's account, or even your own account! Refuse to do it. Tell that person that can go to a cash checking. See recent news article below.

The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a woman who used another person’s bank information to cash checks at two separate banks in Jamaica and Flushing.

According to police, the suspect, who is described as a black female, entered two different Chase Bank locations, one at 110-36 Merrick Blvd. and the other at 32-45 Francis Lewis Blvd.

Once she was inside the banks, the suspect used a 45-year-old woman’s checking account information to cash two checks totaling $1,400. The victim reported the theft to the 109th Precinct based in Flushing.
Accusations alone do not imply guilt.
