Unfortunately Google Plus removed my previous post or review pertaining to the great service and product that I purchased from Peter; hence I am writing another one. In short, I purchased two bikes from Peter this year, one in which I got an excellent deal and have not had to bring the bike in for service since (I do off road MT. Biking which can put a lot of strain on the bike). The second bike was for my girlfriend; this one tends to need a bit more service, not necessarily because it is of poor quality, it’s just that certain bikes are built for certain terrains more than others and rocky trail riding was not our initial plan with this bike . With that said, EVERYTIME I have brought her bike in for the free service he offers with every purchase Peter has kept his word and put his time into tuning out the bike. For the past 10 plus years I have worked with different shops from Cromwell to West Hartford and now South Windsor. By far Peter has the quickest turn around, usually 1-5 days tops and he is very meticulous making sure the bike rides as it should. In short, pay attention to hours, have consideration that the warm months are the busiest time for bike shop owners and Peter is a one man shop.

**GROUPON WILL REFUND YOUR MONEY** I had called ahead to find out if I needed to schedule a tune-up. The answer was "bring it right in". When I brought the bike in and he learned that I was using a Groupon for the tune up, now I needed an appointment. Oh, and it was "impossible" that he had told me to "bring it right in".* Apparently the Groupon tune-up is a different level service than a "full-priced" tune up (although the Groupon does not state this fact). The interaction became more interesting when I was offered a spot right away if I used my Groupon amount TOWARDS the full price of a tune up. Basically "ante up another $35 and I'll get you right in, otherwise you can wait in line with the other schmucks who decided to try out my small business." Now I understand that this guy is busy, the weather is pleasant, people want their bikes fixed... whatever. And I'm a patient person, but the arrogance and self-importance of the shop owner was unbelievable (... waiting in anticipation of his pompous reply to negative feedback...) Well as any reasonable person can assume, this MUST violate some sort of agreement that the shop has with Groupon- and even if it didn't, who would offer return business to someone who treats potential customers like dirt? In any case, from a customer service perspective- steer clear. I can imagine that I am not the only complainant to Groupon; I was promptly refunded the $35 I paid for the voucher and I gladly use that toward service from another shop. *After my experience with the shop I had a friend call 20 minutes later to find out if he needed an appointment and the response from the shop owner was "bring it right in". Impossible!

Very poor experience. Owner must have an anger management problem. Completely snapped because I was asking a question while he was on the computer. Can't recommend this place to anyone.

Thanks to Bicycle South Windsor for taking such great care of my bike. It arrived from your shop in Connecticut to my home in Wisconsin in perfect condition with no "new" scratches, etc. on it. Thank you for your promptness and courteous attention. Diane Harp Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin

After buying a Groupon for a bike tune-up here I decided to buy my fiancee a bike here as well so I stopped in. The selection of bikes was pretty bare (it's a small store, so it's to be expected) and he couldn't fit me in for my tune-up for 2.5 weeks. When the appointment finally came I planned on buying the bike when I dropped off mine, but despite being told to come in before 6:00 pm (he even wrote it on the back of his business card) the shop was closed (it was 4:30 at the time). I left a polite voice mail asking for him to call back so I could reschedule, but after a week without a call I caved and called him back but had to wait another 3 weeks for an open time slot to drop off my bike. Finally when that day rolled about he told me to pick up my bike first thing in the morning. I showed up at 10:15 am (they were suppose to open at 10:00 am) and once again no one was at the store!!!! So I ran some errands and drove by the shop once more, this time I saw Peter pulling up 35 minutes late so I followed him in and picked up my bike. No apology or even recognition that he was running late. I really don't need this kind of service and I've already bought my fiancee's bike at a different store with excellent service and better selection. I haven't tried my bike out yet since the tune-up (the only reason I gave him a good here), but hopefully it's good enough that I never have to go back to this store.

Bicycle South Windsor is by far the most knowledgeable and professional shop when it comes to all things bicycle related. Peter is a true craftsman, provides the highest quality of work and is very fair with his pricing. Once you go to his shop and experience all this first hand, you will never take your bicycle business anywhere else!

This guy is a complete psychopath. I went in to have a simple tune up and wound up spending $300 on this and that which he recommended since i wanted it to run nice. Part of the job was to put in a new cyclometer battery and recalibrate it. I noticed it was wildly off, so i politely mentioned it and he tried to fix it. But still it was just as bad, so i politely mentioned that it was still not working properly. At this point he just went crazy!! He smashed something and there was a very loud noise and he started screaming at me. I also had two brand new tires put on, and I've never had so many flats in my life. Both tires had to be replaced in about 1 month since they both had big holes in them. Had to get a new tune up about a month later. This all happened as i put about 25 miles on the bike. Basically spent $300 to get screamed at. Unbelievable what a jerk and poor mechanic this guy is!

I've been in here a handful of times, but the other day was probably my last visit. Trying to support an LBS, but forget it here. Dan is right in saying that he is a psychopath. He talks down to me about everything and constantly interrupts and is just not very personable. He advertises both on his wall and his business card that he has a psychology degree - - - which makes sense . . . . And while I understand the need to sell stuff, especially at an LBS, every time I walk in it feels like I'm on a used car lot that hasn't sold anything in months . . . . buy this . . . get this . . . your brooks seat is not good buy my masi seat that looks exactly the same . . . . It's too bad. I'm trying to support local, but I just can do it here . . . . he is just too weird to deal with
