This is how clay bricks are made in Tamil Nadu, India. I captured this brick factory (in Tamil language: Chengal Choolai) near my native town, Kallakurichi.

Clay soil is mixed with sand and water in right proportion. Then, using long threads, brick layers cut them in rectangular shapes. The resultant bricks are brown in colour. After drying in sun until they can be stacked like this mound, fire is lit from at the base holes to burn the bricks.

This process turns the bricks into bright red colours and makes it resistant to wear and tear.
