The 1916 tour was extremely interesting and poignant. To be amongst the spirits of such heroic figures from Irelands past struggle for freedom, was very special indeed. A very quiet, reflective place to spend time and the museum is also a very interesting place to spend your time also. You will never be disappointed during a visit to Glasnevin if you understand the significance of many of those who lie at peace within it's cemetery.

After recently watching the brilliant documentary "One Million Dubliners" which is based on the history of the cemetery it reminds me I need to go back here. Did a tour when I was her through the graveyard and it was very interesting. You are brought around to a lot of the famous graves including Michael Collins.

Although it was an occasion that wasn't the nicest, having had a look around the graveyard I was pleasantly surprised that my grandmother had been laid to rest with many of Irelands greatest patriots and historical figures. It is extremely well maintained and you are left in peace if you so desire. Probably not a day out for all the family but if you are interested in the history of ireland or even geniology then go and learn something

It was very cold day so it was hard to stand for long periods but our guide Bridget was so knowledgable and enthusiastic that it made the hours fly by. Well done Bridget would recommend tour.
