BUDDING Rory McIlroys are urged to pick up their clubs and don their plus fours to help support a local youth charity.
YMCA Humber is holding a Charity Golf Day at Waltham Windmill Golf Club on Monday 25 September and they need teams of four players to come along and help raise funds for a new minibus for the Grimsby-based organisation.
Entries are now open for the charity event, which will be held at the Waltham Windmill course on Cheapside, just outside the village, with tee times set to take place between 12 noon and 2 p.m.
The cost is £120 per team of four and mixed teams or ladies’ teams are more than welcome.
For the £120 fee, teams will receive their round of golf and fish and chips after their round, with tea and coffee served throughout the day. There will be a prize presentation, raffle and auction after all rounds are completed in the Clubhouse.
The Golf Day will be held under Stableford format with full handicaps, which are 28 for men and 36 for ladies.
In addition, there will be prizes on the ninth and 17th holes for nearest the pin and for the longest drive on hole three.
