We have scheduled our mission trip to Beverly, Kentucky through the Alabama West Florida Conference in partnership with the Red Bird Missionary Conference in KY. There will be an informational meeting about this mission trip on Wednesday, May 30, at 6:00 p.m. in the Family Life center dining room. The Red Bird Missionary Conference is in ministry with Appalachian families living in the coal region of southeastern Kentucky. Historically, this region has been one of high unemployment and lack of opportunity. The mountains cause isolation making basic life services difficult to reach. Specifically our group will be helping Beverly United Methodist Church host a Vacation Bible School during the afternoon to early evening and working on different projects that Rev. Teddy Brock will have around the church. We will be departing for Beverly, KY on Tuesday, July 24, and return home Saturday, July 28. We have some open spots for some of you wanting to join us on this mission trip to Beverly, KY. I thank you all in advance for your prayers and your financial support of First United Methodist Church of Ozark’s Missions. If anyone is interested in going on this mission trip or you need more information, please give me a call at 334-774-0990 or email me at lesperault@yahoo.com.

Blessings to All,
Les Perault

Fifteen members of FUMC are also members of the Gideons International. On May 27, 2018, these 15 along with the other FUMC membership will welcome Don McCall, President of AL-NW FL Gideons, as he presents in the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services. Mark Barker, Dale County Chaplain, will be welcomed as he presents in the 9:00 a.m. service.

The Gideons partner with churches anywhere to reach the lost everywhere. The Gideons have one purpose and that purpose is to win the lost for Christ. The partnership between the Gideons and the church is vital to winning the lost. Church members support the Gideon ministry in three ways; prayer, membership, and financial support. 100% of the offering a member gives goes to print and place scriptures and is tax deductible.
