http://ruthtalksfood.blogspot.com/2015/03/gnocchi-guru-evan-kleiman-dishes-on.html

Gnocchi are basically Italian dumplings, but that doesn't begin to describe the variety and deliciousness of these tasty little morsels. KCRW "Good Food" host and Italian food whisperer Evan Kleiman gave a master class in how to make three varieties, including one made with beets that was shocking pink!

Hi. I'm a blogger, baker, teacher and home cook, among other things. I love baking bread, particularly sourdough rye, which does take some practice. Because I live in Southern California, which is often very hot, I try to bake early in the morning; otherwise, I might faint from the heat in my kitchen. Anyhow, I hope you'll check out my blog, which is about whatever touches my fancy--but all food-related: http://ruthtalksfood.blogspot.com/

After seeing "Deli Man," we sated our sudden surge of deli cravings at Lenny's, which replaced Junior's about 2 years ago in West L.A. It looks much the same, but there's a jazz keyboardist, a cheerful vibe and surprisingly delicious food, both traditional and modern. Tofu scramble anyone? I prefer matzo ball soup! But you can have both, plus pastrami and a chocolate egg cream!

'Deli Man' is a fabulous documentary you should definitely see. It's a feast and a memory fest for those who love delis and want to remember the old-world immigrant culture that spawned and see the 3rd generation owners who are struggling to keep them alive. Check out my post here: http://ruthtalksfood.blogspot.com/2015/03/deli-man-lovingly-brings-delicatessen.html

Granola, once hippy chow, has gone hip, glam--and expensive. Check out my blog to learn how to make your own. It's so easy, delicious and cost-effective, you'll kick yourself for not doing it sooner.

Oatmeal in a bowl with berries and nuts; oatmeal in a jar with almond milk and chia seeds; oatmeal bread, granola, muesli---oats are big. Read about it on my blog:  http://ruthtalksfood.blogspot.com/2015/01/crazy-about-oats.html.
