Now that the outside temperatures are finally warming up, its time to make use of any outdoor space at your apartment. Lounging outside after a long day of work can provide the needed relaxation you have been waiting for. Consider the following ideas if you have a patio or balcony that could use a freshen up for the summer season.
* If you haven’t tackled the cleaning yet, it's time to remove the cobwebs, dirt and other debris that have accumulated. Be sure to give the deck a good sweep or wash.
* If you haven’t already, it may be time to invest in an outdoor patio set. Or perhaps you can just freshen up any faded cushions or accent pillows to give your set a fresh feel.
* Plant a few of your favorite flowers or vegetables to add some color and fragrance to your patio in pots or garden boxes.
* Be sure you are making use of shelving units and hanging what you can to conserve space. Double duty furniture like deck boxes can be used as both a table and storage and can be quite handy.
* And finally, its time to unwind and share your apartment's outdoor space with company.

If you have any ideas to add we would like to hear them!

Want to start your spring and summer off on the right foot? A clean house will surely help! Here are a few insightful tips to help you conquer all of your cleaning tasks for the coming months.

1. Work from the top down, inside to outside, to avoid getting what you just cleaned dirty again.
2. Do one room or one area of a room at a time to avoid unfinished jobs. The satisfaction of seeing one room sparkle will make the hard work feel like it's worth the effort.
3. When tidying, reduce trips around the house by temporarily depositing items in one organized area near by. Once you’ve finished cleaning you can find those miscellaneous items a proper place.
4. Efficiency is key, so clean two things at once. While laundry is going, scrub the shower stall.
5. Make small repairs on easy to fix items….If you're not handy, hire someone who is, or better yet, look up a fix-it-yourself video and learn while you clean.
6. Invest in a good pair of rubber gloves to protect your skin and nails from cleaning chemicals.
7. Dust before vacuuming or cleaning the floor. Try an extendable feather or lambswool duster for reaching above window casings, door frames, and corners. Household rags are invaluable for jobs requiring a damp cloth – natural fibres work best.
8. Buy a mop with a squeeze mechanism and a decent-size heavy-duty pail – ones with a measuring scale help get soap-to-water ratios correct.
9. Don't stand your brooms on their bristles. It will destroy their shape and diminish their effectiveness. Instead, get a broom holder or hook at your local home improvement store.
10. Use a Swiffer for light dusting, or your favorite broom or vacuum attachment to clean hardwood floors. Then damp-mop with a mild cleaner such as Murphy Oil Soap to make your floors sparkle and shine.

Summer is almost over!

Time for one last vacation before the warm weather ends? Click below for tips to keep your home safe while you enjoy your vacation.

1. Let the landlord or office manager know you will be out of town. They can hold any mail or packages that come for you, and more importantly watch for any suspicious activity around your home.
2. You can arrange to have a trusted friend or neighbor watch your home while you are out of town. Make sure to give your landlord or office manager the name of the person you have watching your home so they do not report this person as a trespasser.
3. Unplug electronics that are not absolutely necessary while you are away. Most electronics still use power if you leave them plugged in. Examples of things to unplug include: TVs, video game systems, lamps, computers, and small kitchen appliances.
4. Clean your home before you leave. Remove any perishable foods from the refrigerator, take out the garbage, and sweep or vacuum.  Why ruin your vacation by having to clean when you return home?
5. Lastly, if you are not taking your car on a long road trip, make sure to remove all valuables and park it in a safe place.

Summer is here!

Click below for tips to help you have a happy and healthy summer!

1. Do you want to save energy, money, and keep your home cool this summer? Remember to keep windows and blinds closed during the hotter hours of the day, turn off any unnecessary lights or appliances when not in use, and use ceiling or window fans at night to cool your home

2. During summer we all like to open up windows and let the fresh air flow through our homes. Unfortunately, many people forget you should always close and lock your windows when leaving home whether it is just for the day or for a long summer vacation.

3. There is nothing worse than getting into your car when it has been sitting in the sun all day. Park your car in a shaded or covered parking spot. Over time this can also help save the paint job and interior of your car.

4 Get outdoors to enjoy your favorite sport or hobby, stay hydrated, and regularly apply sunscreen. These simple things can go a long way to keeping you happy and healthy this summer

Start 2015 off fresh with these green cleaning and organizing tips!

Below are a few tips to spruce up your apartment for the new year.

1) Go through cabinets, closets, and desks to find and recycle all unneeded paper products.
2) Feeling the burden of an overstuffed closet? Give your old clothes a second life; donate any unused clothing to Goodwill!
3) Recycle your electronic products. Most electronics stores will take your old or broken products and recycle them. Avoid tossing those in the trash!
4) Use eco-friendly cleaning supplies. Most stores carry a great selection of environmentally friendly cleaning products, pick some up on your next shopping trip. Or, better yet - make your own! Simple household items like baking soda and vinegar can be used for any number of jobs.
5) Freshen up! Simmering water, citrus peel, and fresh mint or basil will lighten up the air in your apartment without any added toxins from synthetic air-fresheners (and it will save you money as well!). Make sure you never leave your stove unattended.

Why wait until spring, when cleaning can be this simple? Keeping it green will help your apartment stay healthy and toxin free. What are your favorite go-to green cleaning or organizing tips? Comment below to share your ideas!

#July is a month to celebrate with family and friends!
Some of the best summer celebrations involve barbecues or cookouts. Click below for a few safety tips for your next get together.

1. Whether you use a charcoal or gas barbecue always make sure to follow proper safety precautions when lighting, cooking, and storing the barbecue.  Follow factory guidelines when using lighter fluid or propane tanks, clean your grill regularly to prevent grease fires, and store your grill away from anything that is flammable or hazardous.
2. You should know the proper cooking temperatures and preparation for the food you are serving at your get together (especially meat). The last thing you want to do is make your friends or family sick.
3. Make sure to have plenty of drinking water on hand so your guests can stay well hydrated.
4. Provide shade or a covered area where your guests can get out of the sun and cool off.
5. If you will be serving alcoholic beverages at your get together, please enjoy responsibly and make sure your guests do so as well.
6. If you will be lighting off #fireworks at your get together make sure you use extreme caution when handling, lighting, and disposing of the fireworks.  Keep water or a fire extinguisher nearby, never point the fireworks toward anyone else, and always stand a safe distance from the devices.  Make sure you know local laws and regulations regarding pyrotechnics and fireworks.

It’s that time of year again to tackle some much needed spring cleaning. If you’re like a lot of us, your car doesn’t actually fit in its cozy home called the “garage.” Here are a few tips to get your garage in shape.

- Start by cleaning and sorting the items you no longer need. Go through everything! Sort items into piles that need to be organized or brought to your storage unit.
- Invest in sturdy shelving and stackable clear-plastic bins. A lot of space is typically wasted higher up. Store items that won’t need to be taken down often on top shelves.
- Consider re-arranging. Take the time to plan a layout of how your garage will function the best; grab a friend to help you move the bulky items.
- Store similar items together: yard tools & supplies, camping gear, sporting goods, etc.
- Keep the floor clear.

Being able to store your vehicle in the garage will keep it clean and will help it last longer.

If you are looking for a NICE place to live, this isn't the place! The office staff is rude. The apartments are roach invested. They dont fix ANYTHING. When it rains it comes in both of my bedroom windows they have came to "fix it" 3 or 4 times and it still does the same thing. These apartments are very expensive and they arent worth it. It shouldn't be a "gated community" because the gate is ALWAYS broken. Not to mention they will have your vehicle towed even if you drive it everyday. Even the people in the office no that this place is basically the projects. And dont forget the ROACHES!!! They have a major bug problem and all the do is spray some spray that brings more bugs out! They will cut your water off for maintenance and not give you any type of notice. The walls are paper thin, i can hear my neighbors phone vibrate. Overall if you want a nice safe quite place to live this is not the place. When i moved her it was rushed. I looked at the reviews and decided not to listen to them but that was my mistake. .. take our warning DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!

I was recently upset with these apartments and tried -everything- to have my apartment repaired and it was next-to-impossible. I posted nasty reviews here, and was reprimanded for it by the staff. They hired a new person named Jackie today and after speaking with Jackie she set out a plan of action, with her friend Veronica, and they really made me feel like an actual customer. They made me feel like they cared about my repairs and that they were going to do something about it. The last manager was not very friendly and made me feel as though I had no choice but to live in a broken apartment, but they got rid of her, and hired this awesome Jackie person! I feel as though I'm actually paying for, and receiving a service now. Although nothing has been repaired, they made me feel like my money was important to them, which was much more than the last crew -ever- did. I wasn't met with attitude today, and instead, received a warm welcome from Jackie and Veronica who seemed to care about my issues. I will come back and edit my review pending the repairs, with timeline.

Westminster is the GHETTO. I lived there for many years and when a drug dealer moved in downstairs and dealt drugs in front of children (kids), I was told by management that since there was not enough security that I should call the police. So I did. The police came to the apartment of 2453 J (Carlos Raphael Pagan, Powder Springs, GA.... google it if you want, smug shit)... and did two hits on the drug dealer. He made arrangements and bonded out. Afterwards, the guy would stare me down, cause noise problems late into the night, grow further Loud Marijuana and management, especially Ms. Veronica (after they fired Yvette), refused to do anything. I gave in my keys after multiple e-mail and personal phone and face to face contact that I was going to move out. Now they sent me a Customer Satisfaction Survey!!!!!! There was no satisfaction. There is no working gate since before the January 2014 murder of a woman returning to the complex after work in the early hours of January 1. The maintenance crew is fantastic. Their review is exclusive of Managements review. I lived there since 2003 and it has gotten worse and worse. If you care for your children or, on the flip side, want an open place to handle your business in drugs, Westminster Square is then the perfect place for you.

This place is ridiculous. DO NOT BELIEVE THE PICTURES YOU SEE ON CRAIGSLIST. They've taken a picture from somewhere else. The apartment they'll show you is completely different. ALSO, the apartment they showed me was completely torn apart, full of trash, appliances everywhere. It looked like it should be condemned. The balcony had about a foot of dead leaves on it. Also the buildings seem to be in very poor condition. Lots of cracks in the walls and wood on the balconies, etc. I couldn't believe that they would think I might consider renting from them after what they showed me. If they don't care what they show you when you're a prospective renter I can only imagine what it's like after you move in. Also, the property is in terrible condition. DON'T MOVE IN. I DIDN'T!!!!

After living here for four months i'm super disappointed. The apartment is falling apart maintenance has yet to come fix anything that i asked about four months ago when i moved in and the things that were fixed are now broken again. Please save yourself time and stress and don't move in here unless your getting a renovated apartment. The craigslist pictures and pictures on websites are old accept the renovated apartments.Just not worth it, you can find better apartments for cheaper. And yes there are a few drug dealers here but the gate has been fixed and if ur not a bug person also not for you.Ants will be daily in your house due to cracks.Dont get me wrong there are good apartments here i ust wasnt blessed to get one, maybe you will be.

This is a hell hole of a place to live in and I would not recommend it to ANYONE, not even a dog. My lease will be up in 3 months and it can't come soon enough. For starters, within the first month of living here the front gate was broken down and a woman's apartment was broken in to where she was murdered the same night. What type of security was done about this? NOTHING. The gates did not get fixed until just recently, about a month ago. So for the first 7 months of me living here they have not been working. Not to mention there has been 3 different occasions now where I have come home from work and there have been teenage "gang members" smoking weed on the door step right outside of my apartment. They will blast their music on their phones and not give a damn about who lives there. Let me add an important detail that I have two FOUR YEAR OLD children, which have been walking beside me every time I have ran into these druggy kids smoking a blunt less than a foot away from my door. Whenever I have had a maintenance issue here, which is very often, it takes multiple phone calls, emails, and face to face occurrences for them to be completed. My guest bathroom sink and bath tub would fill up completely with water (from God knows where) every time either myself, of any surrounding neighbors (you can hear when they turn the sink on because the construction of these buildings are so poorly made) would take a shower. My kids couldn't brush their teeth in their own bathroom because the sink would over flow if they did. It was completely disgusting and annoying that I was paying for a 2 bedroom 2 BATHROOM when half the time I couldn't even use my second bathroom. Also, my ice maker never even worked from the day I moved in there and I immediately brought it up to the staffs attention and nothing had been done about it until I complained over and over, and it was just now fixed.. 8 months later. One of the times when a maintenance crew came to fix the plumbing problem in the guest bathroom, they left all of my lights on. I work 9-5 every day and do not make it home until after 6, so there is no telling how long my lights were left on. I am a single mom and every penny counts, this apartment complex does not pay my power bill so it's bullshit that my bill is going to go up because the staff can't do a simple task of turning someone else's lights off. Just this morning I had to call yet AGAIN due to the shitty construction here. This past weekend I walked into my kitchen and stepped in a puddle of water, coming from underneath my stove? It soaked my kitchen rug (which I had to throw away because there was so salvaging it), and I was left with a huge mess to clean up because the front office is closed on Sundays. This morning (Monday) I walked into my kitchen again and it was FLOODED with water, also soaking and ruining my other kitchen rug, which I have to throw away as well. I called right at 9:00 this morning when they opened to complain about these issues and get them fixed, and the lady I spoke with did not even give me a simple "I'm sorry" or act apologetic at all whatsoever. I feel very cheated of my money and I am pissed about my living experience here. This does not feel like a home and I do not feel comfortable coming here and having to worry about the safety and well being of my kids due to the violence and drug issues taking place here. Maybe they should spend some more money on have security instead of attempting to make these apartments look nice by repainting the roads black (which looks like shit... just repave them?) and changing everyone's door color from red to brown. These apartments need to be shut down. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE! Absolutely disgusting.

Every time I have a request the leasing office is less than helpful. They act like I'm inconveniencing them by asking for help or maintenance requests. I got hung up on multiple times and I would not recommend living here. It looks nothing like the website and the gate is ALWAYS broken. So much for secure...
