Four Little Easter Baskets
I decided to make the kids' Easter baskets this year. I made them with fat quarters. They are quilted, of course. No pattern, I was just winging it, these are pretty simple to make. It did seem to take forever to finish these. Maybe because I did them all a...

A few quick finishes.
I made this zippered pouch with pink scraps. I was testing to see how a zipper would look if I only covered one end and left the other end uncovered. Doing the zipper that way apparently let's it open wider, so that was neat. Then I wanted to try sewing la...

Last year was a slow year for me as far as quilting goes. I only made seven quilts, all minis except for the triangle baby quilt . And of the six mini quilts only two of them were "art" quilts, the rest were regular wall hangings and/or table quilts. (Dark ...

My 7 year old has been asking me if she can sew for a while now. I decided we would go ahead and do it, I would teach her how to sew. For the most part it wasn't that bad and she did really well (I'm so proud).  She sai...

Just a quick little update! I've completed this pocketed zip pouch and managed to write a pattern for it... no small feat with a baby around. It makes a great small project pouch. Or great for organizing.

Boxy Bags & a Sale
While I should have been able to finish these three bags in a day it actually took me three days to finish them. A lot of the construction was done with Nomes on my lap, which  means super slow sewing so no little fingers get caught in the machine! I starte...

Slow but steady progress.
Here is what we woke up to this morning, along with a two hour delay for school!! I am still working on my hexies. It's going kind of slow, mostly because Nomers requires a great deal of my attention. But I baste when I can. I feel very old-timey when I do ...

The third art quilt I ever made, called "Getting Along', which was an art quilt of my children walking away from me in a field, won first place in the 2013 Army Arts & Crafts Contest. My art quilt titled "Cali" got an honorable mention.
