Hey guys I need some help locating a photoshoot that I saw in the last couple of months. It recreated a 1920s or 1930s speakeasy. The main image posted was a lady on a piano with a guy playing it. I remember the individual saying that they put a lot of time into putting all the paneling together for this shoot. They also created a video of the photoshoot.

Thanks for the help.

This photo needs to get shared a bit quicker...
There seems to be quite a few middle school teachers doing this example lately... Although putting a date on the paper would help so we know it's a recent share attempt.

Once it is on the Internet...

This is a awesome deal. Thanks Scott Kelby for letting us know about it.

Killer deal on Lightroom 4 -- just $50!

OK, you know and I know Lightroom 5 is right around the corner, but if somebody just getting in to all this didn't want to plunk down $150 to make the jump to  LR5, they can jump on this $50 deal for the current version of Lightroom 4 (it includes a $20 mail-in rebate). Here's the link: http://bit.ly/16xjXnR

I have a huge favor to ask of ya'll..
Would you please help support my friend, Nicole Grimes. She's working on raising funds to get a Service Dog for her daughter who has Type 1 diabetes. The service dog, a Diabetic Alert Dog, would alert her daughter when her blood sugar is dangerously low or high. This has the very real potential to save her daughter's life.

They have already raised an impressive amount of $2250; however, they still have a little ways to go.  I'm hoping by sharing this with my friends that we collectively put her over the top of her $3000 goal. I think it would be really cool if we could blast past this goal not by a little amount, but by a huge amount!!

If you would like to help out with this message me directly and I’ll get you the paypal information!
Thank you for helping make this Service Dog a reality.

I got to do something today, that I don't usually get to do....
I stopped in our work breakroom, watched the sun rise up over the buildings here in Anchorage, Alaska, and basked in the first rays of sunlight.

Some of you may think "what's the big deal"... Well, Tomorrow we'll have 19 hours of daylight here. That means that Sunrise will be at 4:28AM and Sunset will be at 11:29PM.  My work schedule is such that I'm at work in my server room by 4AM and rarely do I ever catch the sunrise.

Did I get a photo of it...
Nope. I just stopped briefly in my busy day to enjoy it. :D

So with all the photosharing that happens on G+... I was wondering if people wanted better comments then just "Nice Photo" or "Love It", but more of a critique. Don't get me wrong... there are lots of times where it really is a "Nice Photo", but lots of time I want to give feed back into an image. I want to know what the photographer was thinking, and if they thought about X or Y technique. Or quite often I want to know which technique they were using so I could flatter them by trying to replicate it.

So I get down into the comment section and wonder if they really would like to have these comments there... and then think better of it and don't post them; however, what do YOU think as a photographer? Would you want constructive comments to your images? OR would you rather prefer the "Nice Photo" comments?

Critique only when asked. You're stepping on toes otherwise.
