I belong to a small quilting group. We did a paper bag Friendship Quilt project where we each used the other members own fabrics to make a block for them. This is my finished quilt of the blocks that other members made for me.

What a wonderful way to share fabric and creativity. The end quilt is beautiful.

“Creativity takes courage.”  "There are always flowers for those who want to see them." - Henri Matisse
The French artist, born 145 years ago, is "a giant of modern art". Enjoy his work The Window in high res at: http://goo.gl/4TqIPS with the DIA Art Foundation

"In a letter Matisse described this picture: 'Through the window of the drawing room one sees the green of the garden and a black tree trunk, a basket of forget-me-nots on the table, a garden chair and a rug.' Simple? Not really. Matisse flattened the parquet floor and turquoise walls into one unified line. Add the tilted table top and the skeletal chair, and you have a painting that carefully balances Matisse's desire to reproduce the world accurately in a harmonious two-dimensional painting." Studying abroad is awesome, as long as you know what you're doing. Learn from our mistakes:
Most people agree that studying abroad is worth the expense, but you need to make sure you fully prepare before taking off. Here's how to deal with important things like visas, expenses, adjusting to culture shock, what to bring and more before you go.

Very poor customer service. Our room was not cleaned until we called the front desk at 5pm and requested it. The housekeeper who finally came to clean was very rude and nasty.

Cozy and charming, serving delicious food. I love the atmosphere and will definitely dine here again. The savory pies and the roast chicken are especially good.

Lovely place for brunch. I had the poached eggs and avocado toast - delicious. The bagel chips served with three spreads were very good, too. Portion sizes are just right.
