Dean Jones, I hardly knew you. This is well worth watching for his remarkable performance and the Broadway legends lending their voices in the background.

New York City on a Snowy Night

On winter nights

we walk through streets

muffled into silence

by freshly fallen snow

that yields to our

footsteps

eager to record

our passing

if only for a brief moment.

And as the buildings

rise up like mountains

it’s the in-between moments

that stir the hearts

of fellow urban somnambulists.

Held close

under an umbrella

as the city embraces us,

time pauses

and we huddle in each other’s

dreams,

the city a glint in our eyes

like every glistening snowflake

that makes its way

to the sidewalk.

This is a totally candid moment captured on a magical winter night in New York City. This photo was taken in midtown Manhattan with my Sony A99 during a blizzard that dropped nearly a foot of snow on the city. The vantage point is on 5th Avenue looking south towards lower Manhattan.

Sagrada Familia Temple, Barcelona, Spain

http://furkl.com/sagrada-familia-barcelona-spain/

The Sagrada Família, Antoni Gaudí’s unfinished masterpiece, is one of Barcelona’s most popular tourist attractions. Construction on this church will continue for at least another decade, but it has already become Barcelona’s most important landmark.

The idea for the construction of a new church was launched by a devout organisation whose goal was to bring an end to the de-christianisation of the Barcelonese, which had started with the industrialization and was caused by the increasing level of education of the Catalan population. The organisation purchased a plot of land in the new Eixample district in 1877. The architect Francisco de Paula del Villar designed a neo-Gothic church and led the construction which started in 1882.

One year later, the modernist architect Antoni Gaudí took over as lead architect at the age of 31. From that moment on, Gaudí devoted most of his life to the construction of the church.

Instead of sticking to the original plans, Gaudí changed the design drastically. The neo-Gothic style made way for Gaudí’s trademark modernist style, which was based on forms found in nature. When he died in 1926 only Sagrada Família Towers. Two of the towers one facade (the Nativity Facade), one tower, the apse and the crypt were finished.

The chips and guacamole are quite good. I like the cheese enchiladas and my husband loved the huarache he had on our last visit. Friendly service, nice authentically Mexican decor.

Very good food, nice atmosphere, good service. It was quiet when we were there for a Sunday lunch. The menu has a note about being patient since the food is cooked from scratch - our food did take much longer to arrive then we would have expected.

I enjoyed my dinner here very much. The atmosphere is bustling, crowded and pretty noisy. The food is delicious and authentic, including gumbo, po boys, hush puppies, etc. The only thing missing was a bottle of a Crystal hot sauce on each table like you'd find in NOLA.

My idea of the perfect little store. Wonderful selection of cheeses, condiments, kitchen linens, cheese boards, and more.

Good food, friendly service. The flavors are really unique. The baba ganoush is especially good, as is the seasoned beef in pita. Strong garlic flavor in most of the food could be a plus or minus depending individual preferences.

I love the food, the drinks, the outdoor seating option. We sometimes stop here on a Sunday after a hike. So nice to sit outside and have a glass of wine and an artisan cheese plate. One of my favorite places.
