Wonderful limoncello martini and the pumpkin ravioli were delicious. My friend had the gnocchi - homemade and equally good. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The service was very attentive. Everyone in the place seemed to be having a good time, which is usually a great sign!

Pasta not fresh, and service not great. Way over priced for food quality and service. Small portions, again especially for what you pay. My sauce was watered down, chicken parmesan partially burnt. Atmosphere not exactly what you expect from their website. We sat in the "garden area". Which was some cheap lights and some dead plants. Decor on cheezy side with random things just left out laying around which you wouldn't expect in a nice Italian restaurant. The place was dead for a weekend and Saturday night. I think most were here lured in by the Groupon like myself... Not worth it, pay a little more at better place with fresh Italian cuisine.

Great neighborhood place when you want low key and casual but authentic italian. Good service. Nice patio in the back. Not too loud when we went.

Its a very friendly and welcoming place. Not pretentious and very reasonably priced. The staff and the owner always make me feel like an old friend. The food is plentiful and the Veal entree's ,Veal Milenese especially is better then anywhere else I've eaten at. I highly recommend the "Italian CHEERS!

Not terrible. Food is ok but not really as described on the menu. Baked filet of sole is pan sauteed and overcooked, no fresh oregano or garlic to be found. veal milanese is more like a weiner schnitzel, deep fried with a thick coating, cappellini with shrimp was ok, as was the tuna. Chargrilled calamari not charred at all, somewhat limp and pale. Stick to the pastas and you'll probably be safe. Service was good though.

I rented the back outdoor area for an engagement party the first week of July 2011 for about 30 people. Met with the owner Peter several times before the event for planning. He did a great job helping me with the menu, prices were extremely reasonable, food/bar/ and service were excellent. He was waiting for my fiance and myself at the front to ensure the surprise was not spoiled. It was Amazing. Our party ran over by almost 2hrs and Peter was more than accommodating with no surprises in price. If you are planning a small party for any occasion I highly recommend Aleo.

I just moved to Chelsea and went here after reading rave reviews on Google. The food was really not that great, my salad was too salty, the tomato soup tasted a little too much like sauce and both of our pasta dishes came in a white, bland broth. The ambiance was ok, but felt outdated and considering there were only a handful of other tables being occupied the service was slow and the waiter was rather on the snotty side. It was overall a disappointing dinner, with the exception of the company which luckily made the whole experience rather funny than completely depressing. I would not recommend Aleo at all, there are better Italian places pretty close by and I wish I had chosen one of them.
