I'm not much of a media anything but for today, I will be spending my time off of the internet to protest SOPA and PIPA. I will be contacting my representative and getting my voter registration updated.

It made it to the Daily Mail. There are people in the UK commenting on everything from the name of the restaurant to the goddamn awful worthless photo I took as a joke. I'm gonna find a rock to hide under now.

Today and probably for a while I'm going to have to remind myself of this over and over again.

All the interviews are done and have gone up on the internet. Some of them were better than others. I will now float off into my obscurity and hope that nothing more serious than this will surface. 'Night all.

Going to be talking to the local news soon. Wow.

So I've had an interesting day or so. I went to Boner's BBQ on Sunday for +Colin Stuck's birthday dinner and the experience was so-so. I found the restaurant through Yelp and Foursquare so I decided to leave a review. It got crazy from there. http://www.reddit.com/r/WTF/comments/oadw9/atlanta_business_bashes_customer_on_their/

Twitter exploded and tons of people locally and all over took to local media and social media in defense of a customer who they saw as being bullied by a local business. The worst part about it was that the allegations of no tipping were absolutely false (I checked several times to make sure) but as I paid in cash I was a pretty big target. I love the internet because all of this happened without any involvement from me. Several awesome people found my Yelp review and contacted me through the site to let me know what was happening. My picture from Yelp had been pulled and posted to the Boners BBQ Facebook site along with a horrible post accusing me of not tipping and attempting to ostracize me from local restaurants because of that.

The comments on the Facebook were horrible but not unsurprising if you're like me. I have had people comment negatively on my weight for so long that it doesn't faze me. The comments that I should go kill myself on the other hand were a little scary as I really don't think that anyone who happens to be fat or happens to not tip should kill themselves. All in all I let the horrible things people said roll off me I was just more worried that my husband might get into trouble at work or that my children might be negatively impacted.

I'm a big girl (ha,ha!) and I have been dealing with this sort of abuse for a long time. I will not be intimidated into taking down my review. The first message I got on Yelp? From the owner yelling at me for not leaving a tip and that the plates were clean so how could I have written a bad review. Rather telling.

The only apology issued: "We apologize for any inappropriateness on our part." Not really feeling like an apology as much as a I'm so sorry we got caught. And the little zing of we're apologizing for our part, so she still needs to apologize for her part. Which part, my honest review or the fact that a server may have pocketed a cash tip (which if he is telling the truth and she isn't being paid for this little experiment, then more power to her) or that I screamed and called him names...oh, wait that wasn't me.

I understand how difficult it can be to start a restaurant, the pain, the stress and when things aren't going swimmingly, the heartache, but when a customer gives you a bad review, you bust your ass to turn that review around. Self righteous indignation isn't a good business plan.
