Kevin, at high altitude, we have jet streams (high velocity winds) that always flow from the west to the east...shifting north and south by few degrees of latitude according to season, although they weaken over the equator. They end up forming an almost continuous belt around the globe. These balloons will generally flow along these jet streams, thus behaving like low earth orbit satellites.

He is Risen!

I'm looking forward to directing the Easter musical, "The Risen Christ" later this morning.

If you're awake in Nairobi and undecided about church plans, karibu!

The discontinuation of Google Reader/Notebook makes me reluctant to rely on Keep vs Evernote.  Also, the Evernote client downloads an xml file that can be used elsewhere, if Evernote ever discontinues.

Finally able to make this announcement, which only marks the start of an exciting journey. Now the real work (execution) begins!

BebaPay goes live in Kenya!
Today, together with Equity Bank, we’re announcing BebaPay, Kenya’s newest cashless innovation to make payments easy and more convenient for bus passengers.  BebaPay is the first payments system of its kind for Kenya!

BebaPay makes it easy to pay for your bus fare and helps you budget and track your spending.  All you do is swipe your card on the card reader in order to pay. You also get free SMS receipts and the BebaPay website makes it easy to budget and manage your expenses on your mobile or computer.

Bus conductors can use BebaPay on a Near Field Communication (NFC)-enabled Android phone to accept payments from BebaPay smart cards.

This article is pure gold. I love the 7th point in particular, because it happens to be my testimony too.
