The food, service and ambiance at the Fieldhouse Cafe are exceptional! We have had brunch, lunch and dinner here over the past six months, and it never disappoints. Tonight there were four of us for dinner, and everyone loved absolutely every component of their meal. My salad was fresh and delicious, my steak perfectly prepared and served with the most heavenly onion gravy, the risotto stuffed red bell pepper was amazing. We shared lava cake and creme brûlée for dessert--yum! Oh, and the wine was great too...although they didn't make that themselves. ;)

Ugh I sooo badly wanted this place to be my new go to place in Billings. On the surface it looks great! I have gone here many times, but the last time I went will definitely be my last! The hostess was so rude I could barely stand it. We showed up before the place was open the front door was open so we walked in. The hostess immediately let us know they weren't open we apologize and said we'd come back later. He said we could sit, but we couldn't order anything. Proceeded to throw the menus on the table and walked off. So we left and came back when they were open. He proceeded to make rude faces and noises as he sat us and every time any of us walked by the hostess stand he would again role his eyes and scoff at us. He is the reason I will not come back on top of lukewarm and under season food. Being treated as though I and all my friend are a nuisance!

Fantastic atmosphere and great food. This was reasonably priced food that is from local farmers and very fresh. Great variety and the service was superb. The only issue was that the meat was slightly undercooked.

I would not recommend this place to any one. We went in on a slow Saturday and the service took along time to server the meal but then to get the check. What we ordered was horrible. It had no taste and was very very very dry. For the price it should have been incredible. I see this place as representing a finer dining and prices match but at least from what we experienced it was not so.

Great food and Great atmosphere! I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was awesome. I am from Seattle and this place really reminded me of the cafe's downtown Seattle. Good stuff!

Trendy spot, more about ambiance than food. It is clearly targeted towards a certain market (the Prius crowd). That said, two of the three meals we had were quite good - the grilled chicken w/ risotto and the mac and cheese. The polenta appetizer was also very tasty. The third meal - scallops - was very mediocre and mostly left uneaten. The rule of thumb w/ scallops is that if you can't do them right, don't even try - they are notoriously difficult to cook. My main complaint was a limited menu and even more limited wine selection. There are other restaurants within a 2-3 block area that surpass this one for fine dining and have a more varied menu w/ eclectic choices of both food and drink. Walkers is my personal favorite.
